Couple I noticed, not because it's Larsson just that they stood out. When we were under pressure he was passed the ball edge of our box with open space in front of him and turned round and passed it back to a marked player. Inexplicable. Then when they were doubling up edge of their box on AJ he ran past AJ into the corner AJ had no where to go and I can only assume Larsson didn't give him a shout where he was as AJ got forced off the ball by numbers whilst looking for help.
If one of your strikers is a fridge-freezer, that can happen. At the end of the day, it's a fridge-freezer way more commonly used for keeping foods below a certain temperature in order to prevent the growth of bacteria and what not. They simply cannot be expected to replace a trained athlete in a high level game of football, or any sport for that matter at any level. At a push you may be able to use one to hit a tennis ball off and have the ball bounce back to you but even then, i can't see it.
Couldn't agree more, Fletcher for Altidore who again is more interested in the oppo than the ball and when the ball is passed to him it's bouncing off aimlessly. Gardner for Larsson for obvious reasons, would have preferred Catts and pushed Ki higher.
Where's the Poyet tiki taka stuff gone? We seem unable to put 2 passes together, It's been said but this is why Catts is important - the whole central midfield is invisible. He needs to be in to put a bit of stick about then get them moving forward.
Bar Larsson, how's the rest of them doing? Ok it seems bar sitting too deep, or being bypassed in midfield (larsson)? I fail to understand how he gets a game for us.
