Police and pubs on saturday

Just been speaking to my mate and he reckons that the poliss will be handing out fines of £20000 and potential 6 month jail sentences to landlords/ladies of boozers showing the derby and making them switch them off, anybody heard of this?

 

As its not a criminal offence then I reckon you 're having your chain yanked mate!

 

Bollox. Why haven't they done it before now? Remember Quinny complaining about it but that's exactly all he could do, complain. The pubs still show the matches, there's no special new laws just for the derby. They'll continue to show matches.

I can actually confirm that this is partially true.

It only applies to pubs in Newcastle city centre, now, bear in mind this does NOT include the Quayside & surrounding areas, and the fines are 'up to' £2000.

Ridiculous really, but as I've seen first hand what happens every time there's a derby on, and no, it's not just when we win, then I kind of understand it.

Will it be enforced? Will it ****.
