"People who blither on about the £2m spent since May might want to reflect that on average we have spent less under GFH-C ownership per transfer window than under Bates! That astonishing statistic should have you manning the barricades outside the busted flush of an MD’s office not snipping at McDermott. Haigh well and truely has shafted us, the club and hung McDermott out to dry, the nonsense about “discovering new issues” is frankly insulting (and I can’t be the only one who finds Flowers moans all at bit cry-baby). Not only does he also have the disloyal types internally to deal with he is also apparently getting told one prospective owner would tell him what players to pick and one outgoing Bahrain based owner would have sacked him last week for trying to strengthen our decrepit squad! Frankly we should consider ourselves lucky we had such a rounded personality as McDermott through the last 9 months."

Problem is people only look at transfer fees <doh> if you sign a player for free on a 3 year contract at 10k per week that freebie has cost you (or will) 1.5M
Under Bates leadership Warnock was allowed to bring in half of Portsmouth probably at a cost of somewhere around 10m give or take a bit on wages <ok>

Flying it here in the damp midlands. Actually not terribly arsed about Leeds at the moment as there are no likely positive outcomes. More important things in life thankfully

Sadly I haven't got the answer, I just don't see Brian as the man to do anything with us and his signings have been poor, results have been bad and performances terrible.

Always thought Brian was the best manager we could have gotten. But I still think back to some of the things the Reading fans were saying and in big numbers. Remember all football fans and pundits said Brian was kicked in the teeth and didn't deserve sacking. Well Reading fans said he did ok in the championship but should have gone up in year 1 and managed in year 2 but were lucky. Once in the prem he was clueless, lost the plot with team selection, couldn't seem to organise the team and were too defensive and they were glad to get rid. At the time I thought that was harsh but since November what have we seen and we were 5th at the time and since then we've seen our worst football in many years.

How much longer can we give him especially when his players can't get a game or on the bench and the 2 wingers just brought in are crap. Please Brian sort it out mate before you lose the fans

I agree, and in a 'normal' season with a stable (off the field) club, our winless run of 7 games or whatever it was including the bitch slap we got off relegation threatened Wednesday would have spelt the end for who ever was in charge. I like McDermott and he feels like a proper manager, but its a results business and I want both the club to do well before Brians personal success. How long do we give it?

Well it's Feb in a few days time and I really don't think there's any point in getting rid of yet another manager. No one can sort this **** out until the off field bollox is sorted out. I'm starting to get fecking pissed off and I've not felt this bad since Tony Currie was sold.

I've been thinking much the same. I heard a reading fan on talk sport the other day after they scored 7. He was saying how refreshing it was to have Adkins philosophy flowing through the team, mentality and style of football. It was a welcome contrast to the panicked hoofball under Mcdermott.

I still think Brian is a good manager, I don't think we will find better anyway!

What a load of baloney ... McD took Reading up on a shoestring, won the title with an awesome run that shook the Championship to its core ... then when he needed to strengthen in January the owner decided he preferred to keep the loot ... sacked because he wasn't backed and the owner wanted to blame someone ... Adkins is a prat, let Le Fondre waste away to the point the lad wants a transfer, finally gives him a crack and the lad scores back to back hat-tricks at home to prove his point ... McD over Adkins anyday, now please leave our manager alone and let him do what he needs to fix this club

Brian had Pugh up for sale then he had a run of games in the squad, Brian signed Murphy for over a million then youngster Mowatt was preferred, Brian signed Hunt then picks Diouf and Varney, Brian signs Wootton and Zakliukas then keeps Lee's and Pearce, he is clueless.
