Two in quick succession and then a bloke from the crowd trying to join in the fun. Was surprised when security stopped him, no one had cared about the physical abuse McGregor received before that.

    Palace fan here :

It was an intriguing game, although 2nd half we were almost unbearable to watch with our wayward passing, every game which it has hammered it down at Selhurst we have struggled to deal with the conditions. That said, apart from the Rosenior chance and Livermore's miss, I thought we defended pretty well and if it wasn't for 2 sloppy passes, we could have nicked a couple on the counter towards the end.

With regards to the penalty shouts, the first one Jelavic didn't appeal for, nor did any other Hull player so I can only assume it was a coming together with nobody at genuine fault.

The second one however, without meaning to rub it in, will make every Palace fan delighted as unbelievably that would have been the 3rd penalty Shane Long would have won at Selhurst in about 5 appearances and all of them were a carbon copy of tonight. He quite simply utilises his pace very well then sticks his leg in front of the defender and topples over. Given that it was his first appearance for yourselves, you have every right to think the ref got it wrong but watch him carefully in the future, he does it an awful lot and he's despised for it at CPFC.

The sending off was a strange one, C.Jerome really didn't do a lot wrong for the first clash and McGregor clearly has no poker face, he had completely lost it at that point so it was no wonder O'Keefe tested the waters with his foul at the end. It was a certain yellow card for him but I'm not sure McGregor deserved a red for his petulance, his reaction however did, having him banned for 3 matches could prove very costly.

Overall, we're delighted with the win but not the performance. Taking another 3 points off Steve Bruce is never a chore either, even if it has been 13yrs since he did a Judas act by leaving us!

Highlight for me was bumping into Sarah Beeney: I know she speaks fondly of the area but I didn't realise she was a fan - she looked very fetching in black & amber ........... she's also more attractive ''off camera'' than on it.

I agree, we played 442 or 4411 against Fulham and scored 6. Rossy isn't a wing back, he is a full back, and should play there.

Taking all into account this morning after watching the game on a live internet stream last night I can comment as follows:
I thought we played reasonably well for an away game, we dominated possession and were in control for much of the game, which is saying something at Palace. We just lacked a cutting edge going forward. Considering this was the first time Jelavic and Long had played together, they did OK and I can see their partnership blossoming into a real handful for teams. Long was very fast and good in the air, whereas Jelavic being more predatory, just needs the run of the ball. He could have had four goals already after 2 games. Our midfield was much better than of late but we need to get the ball out wide and deliver some better crosses. I thought we looked much better with Boyd on and I just don't know why Brucie prefers Meyler, who was poor again last night. As for the McGregor sending off, He just got too wound up by their constant follow throughs on challenges and just lost his cool. He did kick out a little but there was more contact from the Palace player. A disappointing result at the end but I am not as downhearted today as I felt last night as I think we will get better if we just get the run of the ball and decisions a little. A big display and result against Spurs and we will all forget last night.

This. ^^^ Norwich was disheartening because of the way we played, but we played them off the park last night, not sure why people thought we were ****. Jela and Long looked dangerous in patches and just need to get used to their teammates. Some of their layoffs to guys like Quinn and Livermore were brilliant but there wasn't a goal to show for it. Last night was more distressing because of the ref's calls than the way we played. If we can get something off Spurs on the weekend then we can put this behind us.

Last night was a prime example of how much we're missing Aluko & Brady - there was little or no guile from our passing in the final third. Elmo rarely got within 10 yards of the byline, Rosie, good full-back that he is is never (nor did he) going to deliver into the box like Robbie Brady, for much of the game we resorted to lugging the ball into the box from deep, meat & drink to Delaney who, in fairness looked immense for them. Palace aren't going to win any footballing awards but they won't go down with Pulis in charge; he has them playing like an away team, when they don't have the ball they get 10 men back and then harry, niggle & block the ball carrier - they're very organised.

Final word, their fans are excellent - some around me were saying the Ultra thing going on at SP there is a little contrived ? Contrived or not they it certainly creates an atmosphere and they never stopped for 90 minutes, fair play to 'em.
