Lee Barnard was involved in a violent incident, as was Dan Seaborne. Were we baying for them out before we knew the full story?

Obviously this is different as it is aimed at a team-mate, but RLGB, if violence amongst footballers was totally stamped all over all the time, there'd be a lot of them left behind.

Lambert and co. have got lary in the town before, as others have testified. Remember the Lambert bar scrap? I do...

He wasn't even involved in that though, he just happened to be in the bar.

It's a simplistic way of approaching it. Violence is wrong, but the roots need understanding before passing judgement. We don't know if he's got any issues apart from this with any of the players, but to expect a fiery (in nature) Italian player to come to the country, find a new home where he doesn't speak the language, starts a new job and who is also expecting his first child in the next few months... Just seems like too much too soon. This on top of the fact he's played in a country for the last "x" years where he gets xmas off, but instead he gets the joy of 5 games in 12 days.

I'm not at all condoning the violence, but rehabilitation would be the best outcome all round, even if he moves again in the medium term.

All I'm saying is violence shouldn't be tolerated on any level. There is nothing wrong with that.

Someone have an example of a burglar breaking into your home, that's a different matter. Self-defence.

If it's an unprovoked attack then there is something very wrong.

I'm saying I wouldn't want any trouble makers at my football club. I think everyone can understand that.

Well, we will never know. His family were involved, at very least. The story never got mass media coverage and therefore Lambert managed to avoid most of it. I'm just making the point that it is foolish to pass judgement on events we are not privy to the full and uncut story of what has happened.

Pochettino, the players and Dani will know what did happen and what needs to happen for us to go forward.

I can understand the last paragraph, surely rehabilitation is a way of achieving this...?

How do you know it was unprovoked? I can understand your point and in an ideal world I would prefer it not to happen, but footballers are not angels and there are training ground scraps all the time.

As David Connolly himself said in his article last week. Best to have a cooling off period, then reapproach things and decide how to act.

Intriguing. Had a cheeky smile when he said something will probably happen. The "out" doesn't necessarily mean Osvaldo of course.

Attacking a burglar breaking into your home isn't self-defence. Defending yourself against a burglar that's attacked you is self-defence.

Really hope Dani doesn't go. He has talent in abundance, he just needs to knuckle down and work hard. Maybe he does have an anger problem but I'm sure a lot of the squad have had outbursts every now and then. Granted they haven't turned round and head butted a team mate, but lots of mistakes are made in the heat of the moment.

This is an Italian international who we are talking about and if we stick with him I'm sure he will come good, hopefully anyway! Also, can't believe some people are suggesting we basically give up on this season now and wait till the summer. We are only five points off Newcastle and with them still to play we can knock on the door of the Europa League. May not be realistic but we might as well give it a go, what is there to lose? If we bring someone in, good. They have a good amount of time to bed in and we can hope they hit the ground running for next season.

It probably is him that's the 'out' in all likelihood, of course. But saying that, if there is a way of rehabilitating him into the squad, giving him something to prove, to EVERYBODY, plus World Cup year. Jeeze, that headbutt could be the best thing to have happened to our season!
