Sousa unashamedly worked him into the ground as a first up defender. Remember in one game (I was in East stand) Pintado chased a lost cause down the far touchline and won the ball near the south corner flag. He looked up for support only to see Pratley and the rest of the midfield loitering without much intent, or interest, near the halfway line - presumably keeping their shape under Sousa's orders. Utterly heartbreaking for a striker and was the norm in most games back then. Pintado was too willing for his own good and usually was totally knackered when he did get a scoring chance. He might not have scored many but he was very instrumental in Sousa's defensive game plan. I would love to have seen him play a season in a 442. He would have scored quite a few in that formation. As for Luke Moore, he had his chance and squandered it. The complete opposite of Pintado in terms of work ethic, he had bags of talent but didn't possess the attitude to make the most of it. Of the two, his was the greatest sin. Had he possessed Pintado's character and work rate, he would have been quite some player.
Not fair to pool Danny Graham in with those lot, he had a lot more expected of him and he was a lot better than any of those listed.
Don't start Ivor off on Gorka Pintado - oh, Swansalona already has Now who was that kid that Brendan brought in on loan from West Ham. He was so bad I can't even remember his name...
Reading home last year as well. Came on half-time and turned the game around. Then not used at all in the next 6 or 7 games.
All rubbish if you ask me, except for Graham, why he's mention with this lot I have no idea, if the club are looking for a good second striker off the bench then Dobbie is your man, streets ahead of the garbage listed on this thread, why we let him go is beyond me, he would get you between 7 to 12 goals at this level easy!................... please log in to view this image Regarding my mate Pintado (Known affectionately as Pantstado) he worked his socks off running around, but what a load of Bull in front of goal, I remember up at Ashton gate, was sitting right behind the goal and got a birds eye view how inept he was at reading play and his positional awareness was cack, Van der Gun was showing him how to do it that game, man we have had some pearler's, worst for me was Abbot, think we signed him for £250,000, he was gone in three months or so. Leon night was a good striker and very gifted, shame he was a street gangster off the pitch, ruined a very promising career, a complete Idiot if ever there was one!....................

KUQI!!! I think it was Barnsley in the cup...He did score a diving header later in the match...I remember him saying it was the worst he had ever played. I liked kuqi, what a great guy! We were also after his brother. The Swan Dive was always a highlight! Does anyone remember the 2 page spread in the programme or SWEP of him flying through the air after scoring! Class Fallon was one of my heros after that play-off final game against Barnsley. And the 2 goals against Southend. when Eastwood hit 2 as well. Frank Nouble! Oh man he was rubbish. Fabian Brandy, so so.
I went to an away match, can't remember where now, but Fallon and Knight scored well that game to get us into the play-offs, I think Knight scored twice in the second half, and I think Fallon had a goal too, old ground with wooden seats, might have been Chesterfield?...............
Shame about Knight, little fella like Nathan Dyer, well maybe a tad bigger, but he was so relaxed and accomplished in front of goal, a real crime he didn't develop his talent, such a wast, he could have been a great player!.......................
