I'm absolutely convinced that Rooney will be going to Chelsea in the Summer. Try as I might I can't think of any other reason that Mata would be allowed to join us if not as a sweetener for that deal. I would expect to see a much more muted Rooney until the end of the season, less committed too in case he injures himself with the World Cup coming along, after all, he doesn't have to bust a gut to make Hodgson's squad so he can coast to the end of the domestic season. At least Moyes will have the time to pick a replacement striker in the certain knowledge that Rooney is leaving, plus he doesn't have top concern himself too much about playing him slightly out of position to accommodate Mata - Rooney can whine all he likes if Moyes knows he's leaving.
I doubt Rooneys going anywhere. Theres reports of a new contract as well. He was only ever going to Chelsea to be with his mate Mata anyway. We've saved him the trouble.

With all the conjecture, wouldn't it be wise for the club or Rooney himself to affirm that he will be staying - if that was the case? Since Moyes and the club shares price would benefit from a 'I'm staying' statement, it seems to me that either Rooney has not made his mind up or he is determined to go.
Your doubts appear to be correct! The latest news is that Rooney is considering an offer that would make him the highest paid player in United's history and keep him at Old Trafford for the rest of his career By the end of next week, it seems, we will know!

Chelsea don't need either of these players, unless someone else is sold! Griezmann is primarily a left winger and Hazard has this position sewn up. Kroos is a number 10 and Oscar has that position sewn up. Neither signing would make any sense.
