We don't have Messi, Villa and Pedro who can keep on bamboozling defenders for 90 minutes.

Teams in this league have good defenders who will get pretty clue up about what to expect from attackers.

Adding in the extra dimension of a big target man can help create space for others.

Heider Helgusun, Craig Beatie and Jon Parkin all did it well for QPR, Swansea and Cardiff.

Ive got a feeling that Derby will make a revised bid for Waghorn and he wont wear the Fox shirt again:

Well I'll be gutted if he leaves but it's all about who we replace him with really. If he wasn't getting a look in instead of Vassell last season how's he going to get in ahead of Nugent/Kamara/Maynard/Earnshaw if we were to sign a couple, or a number of those?

It's a real shame it's not worked out as the kid has lots of potential and I think he was a bit harshly treated by Sven last season, as players out of form and not pulling their weight were chose in front of him even when he came off the bench and made an impact. It was difficult for him to prove himself in short bursts and in some ways I think he was trying too hard. He needs regular football and if Derby offer that I think that would be best for him.

It will be doubly sad though because he is rightly well liked amongst our supporters but it would sour people's opinions of him if he went to the Sheep Shaggers.

Id take Maynard over The Yak I guess.
If Yakubu was in any way committed to us he would be here by now...

I think Nugent would be a good signing aswel.

I think Maynard would be better suited to us because of his movement and his pace and the fact he likes to run behind defenders and create oppurtunities for himself which will make it easier for us to create chances as a team. This is the reason I think we struggled against teams like Palace and Cov when they came and played 10 behind the ball because we didn't have to movement (the Yak especially) to create chances and work openings and look to stretch the team by running in behind them.

Sign Maynard but no more then 3M. Get Nugent try and get Heskey or Ebanks-Blake, get rid of Howard

    Front line

    Maynard, Nugent, Waghorn, Vassell, Heskey/Ebanks-Blake

    That would do nicely
