    so the pitch has stood up well then????? just as a matter of interest does any of the 'old faithful' (in any kind of weather assming they are winning) complain about the effects of football on their pitch?

    "...'the biggest sporting event in the city' and the 'biggest grudge match in world rugby league'....." Have they really been trailing the match as that? It was a pre-season friendly wasnt it???

    Pitch looked fine, hard to tell from up in the stands though.

    You don't tend to hear them complain too much about it because it doesn't effect the game as much as it does football, trust me you still get the odd idiot that moans when the ball bounces awkwardly that it must have hit a divot caused by the football!

    So all 99,800 were Hull FC fans were they?

    And wait... i'm pretty sure City have been to Wembley. In a final. And sold out.

    And, since you like to use attendances:

    Hull City AFC record attendance - 55,019

    Hull FC record attendance - 28,798

    <ok>

    The playoff final. Which you win a cup at the end of as well as promotion.

    <ok>

    I did read your post, you said ANY cup final. There you go.

    Record attendance for Wigan in a cup final 99,800. I say Wigan as it was a higher attendance than any other final involving FC, including the one against Rovers so presumably Wigan were the attraction. Only rugby fans make out that a final is some sort of measure of their support. The likes of Crook Town, Bishop Auckland and Walthamstow had 100,000 for amateur cup finals. I guess they must be up there with Newcastle and Arsenal.

    The relevant crowds are those in Hull not finals in a cup which is easy to get to the final of. I was going to say that everyone can win a rugby final at Wembley even villages with a smaller population than Driffield but of course one club can't. The biggest crowds in Hull have all been for City.

    If you insist. Hull FC record attendance at Wembley - 99,801. Should have been 99,802 but I could not make it.

    Appearing at Wembley and winning some form of Cup competition there is also "easy". If Darlington can do it what is Hull City's excuse?

    Again, I must ask - how many of those were FC fans again? 40%?

    Because if I recall, you didn't get near that in most of your other finals. Even the Hull derby in 1980 (which KR won :emoticon-0136-giggl) got less. And yet you did in that game against Wigan.

    Weird that isn't it? Wigan, the biggest rugby hub in the country, was who you got that attendance against.

    I'm sorry, do you support Hull City AFC or Hull FC? (or both)

    Because judging by your posts you sound like one of those FC lot who attempts to belittle HCAFC.

    I support the game of Rugby League and my Hull team is Hull KR. I watch all televised Super League matches and when English clubs or Great Britain/English international teams come to Australia I go to support them. I have been doing so with my husband since 1968. Next month we will be at the Wigan WCC match in Sydney.

    I support the Darlington Football Club and my husband is a lifelong(apart from a few infant years) supporter of Hull City and Hull FC.My second club is Liverpool and my husband's Sunderland.

    If I 'belittle' Hull City I am sure I would be rebuked from very close quarters!

    You got your highest attendance in Hull against Manchester United one of the biggest football clubs in the country. What point are you trying to make?

    Attendance at The Wembley Cup Final Hull FC v Hull KR was 95,000. I was there and my team won so why the giggle?
