I really never knew Audi drivers were loathed so much over there!! - Here the Madrileños love a German car, by far the most popular choice for Spanish both rich and poor.
Is it a 4x4 Audi because that would be even worse. Of course it was the yuppy ****ers in the 80s driving porches as well, so it must be Mercs time to acquire them soon! Its a shame as the cars are very good.
I brought a new engine as I have committed to keeping my car ... I love it and drive it around at 30mph mostly but it feels great to have a tool that when required can dish out exactly the lesson these types need ... in truth regardless of car. Add to that Imprezas .... they don't like it up them. I agree the cycle thing has gone too far in terms of culture in London ... I ride my Pashley Guvnor up town to the South Bank and get constantly told to wear a helmet ... my reply is not to worry as i have a spare head at home
That's it for me! The cyclist went looking for trouble and was surprised when he got it. Started off as hang bags but the cyclist escalating it by catching up with the Audi deliberately (and with some considerable effort) and then shouting 'f'iing prick' through the window. he didn't even have the sense to just lean on the door and trap the bloke in there. I believe that those cycle boxes are enforced with a penalty if cars to stop in them so maybe that's why the cyclist got irked in the first place. Anyone know if that is true?
Precisely! The cyclist made a right fool of himself. Violence is never the answer, but I would definitely have slapped him.
Like i said the cyclist needed to chill from the first minute then none of this would have happened ... bet his thighs were a bit sore with that acceleration ... add to that his head and it looked like a great start to the day. I could also see the cyclist bursting into tears later on while he was sipping his green tea, chewing his tofu
Bloody hell, were you a banker or a stoke broker in the 80s as well? Ill forgive him DT if he wears a pastel suit with rolled up sleeves and no socks.
I have no sympathy for the cyclist. He had made his point at the first set of traffic lights. He was quick to back down wasn't he, not such a hard man after all.
They are but so are a lot of drivers, the worst a cyclist can do is annoy someone but the worst a driver can do is kill someone. I used to cycle a lot and lorry and bus drivers were great and it was usually the expensive cars that would give you no room or line up in a cyclist area.
Audi driver, what a twat. Hope he has been reported to the police. Enough on the video for him to be done with assualt and driving without due care or careless driving. It has been suggested that bike boxes are fitted with cameras and drivers who enter them are dished out with a fixed penalty.
Here is a more interesting one. http://btst.co.uk/PoliceCauseAccide...b8c1f5b2679760fcd6fcec7b4fd0de2ba172124e7d5af The second biker clearly to blame for travelling too fast and too close behind to the bike in front, especially in poor vis.
Just a great advertisement for public transport. Aggressive car driving, aggressive bike riding. Until Boris or his replacement sorts out proper cycle routes, this sort of incident is going to increase.
Just checked with cycling guru who knows that the driver committed an offence the moment he edged over the first line of the cycle box. £80 if camera or seen by police person. The Cyclist was in the right to stop in front of the car. Apparently that is the whole point of the box ie cyclists stopping in front of cars so that they are more visible to motorists. Obviously still does not excuse the subsequent behaviour of either.
