**** all this love and respect. I thought we were meant to be proving we're too immature to cope with cross bored threads?
To me, the big attraction of not606 is that it's multi club. We can interact with each other. People don't come on an internet forum expecting tea and scones. People expect banter. I know we all have different points where we draw the line but that's all part of making allowances for it being a public forum. We can take the piss out of each other, wind each other up, and yet at other times even sympathise with fellow football fans (like when you get relegated). It's all good fun as long as we can take it as well as we can dish it out.
It used to be like that, sadly, no more. Good to see you got the relegated dig in....****...how was ya free weekend with no footy?
You can't do them now, that was the whole point... Sunderland mods and mags get together, and chat to the owners about getting them back....even if only for some games.
It was ****. Any weekend where you're not in the cup is **** when you're an old fashioned fart like me. And actually, on the relegation thing, if you were relegated (which I don't expect) then part of where I draw the line is that I wouldn't take the piss out of you for being relegated cos I know it ****ing hurts. I'd wait a few weeks and then take the piss out of you for being in the championship. That's cos I know that at that time I couldn't take it so I wouldn't dish it out.
Judging from the reaction on both boards it should happen, probably for the derby. It's just up to those who become sensitive to stay away from the threads. Personally I can't imagine I'd partake a great deal, to a point yes, but I get tired as soon as "You're shagging your sister" and such starts being flung both ways. People would have to accept that some pretty grim **** is going to be said and that moderation would have to be non existant in order to make it as fair as possible. It's one of those where you either let everything pass or you start tit for tat deleting.
Sums it up mate...cross board only for match threads, whilst i enjoyed the old days, they were the past, this board could not handle them now. Times change.
I don't know mate, I reckon if they can come in at all there should be a place for them on anything that directly involves both clubs. That's if the hypothetical derby thread works ok. Supply and demand. Just need people to demand it.
The sad thing is, with the way both of our clubs have been for longer than we care to remember, we should both have more than enough to take the piss out of without resorting to this. I mean for ffs, we've got Joke In ere and the horse puncher and you think Cattermole is a footballer. What more do we need?
Completely agree mate but there's a common held belief that the 10-15 miles that separates us turns the other side into unwashed, sister molesting ****philes. Bizarre really.
I can't say I'm a fan of that. I'll join in with the unwashed bit (I think that's fairly standard banter up and down the country) and I'll hold my hands up to joining in with anything 'Monkey Mackam' related cos I think that started from genuine banter about Peter Reid (which he has laughed at too). I personally think inbred jokes are nothing new, and can be funny when clever, but they are very rarely clever. Anything can be funny when done right, but its usually done badly which ends up being just offensive. Lines would definitely be crossed in cross board threads, but i think the way to deal with that is to ignore it and change subject. Seeing how quickly threads go off topic shows that works far better than moderation would.
Been testing the water over there and Hacky is calling me up and down left right and centre and threatening my with nag tagging if I didn't leave. I'd love it to happen but some self-implode and can't Hacky it.
I think it's fuking ridiculous to NOT have cross board threads, and I reckon we should absolutely have them. People are proper fannies man 'this Newcastle/Sunderland fan said summat mean about Sunderland/Newcastle'. Get a ****ing grip like.
