...of course you had 45 days to sign him, you dick. http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...stone-was-keen-on-sunderland-move_132880.html The prick.
I saw that to. Dude looks like an even bigger idiot after that. You had 45 days to sign him and you didnt do it? I would be a better manager than him if thats how long it takes him to think about signing Huddlestone.
Exactly - if there really was 45 days, he'd have signed him. Especially if he really was 'keen' to move to Wearside. It took us about 2 days to go from rumours to signing him, so it's just bullshit.
There were strong indications back in the summer in the press that Hudd would be joining Slumberland, so it did seem odd that we were able to come in and snag him. I remember people on here at the time saying we can't compete with Sunderland for wages offered.
That would make sense, as I would have expected before the season started for Sunderland to be a much more attractive offer for Thudd, even with that maniac as your manager.
I'm pretty sure he's having a dig at the DoF at the time. He's saying he wanted Huddlestone, he spoke to Tom and he was keen and the DoF had 45 days to sign him and didnt, leaving the door open for us. All of you criticising him here have to remember he was not responsible for transfers at Sunlan. He also said in the FF interview that he was given an impossible task when they signed 14 foreigners (or whatever it was) in the summer. He's basically shifting the blame to the DoF, who did do a ****e job admittedly.
Which chairman in their right mind (yes I know some are a bit loopy) is going to look at a list of managers who have applied for a vacancy and think "mmm Di Canio would be a good choice, he gets on so well with players and other staff members". I honestly believe that even Gold, Sullivan and Brady would not be that stupid to ever give him any job - They would seriously do a lot better with Phil Brown on a tight transfer budget than that Italian barmpot
I'm stunned he hasn't got the Wendies job. If Gray had done poorly in temporary charge then I'm almost certain they'd have gone for PDC.
I think it was his injury history. He was PDC's number one target and he wasn't impressed when we didn't even bid for him. Thing is we missed out on our top target on a right back because someone pulled the plug because of an old injury. Di fanti has now been sacked because of his over caution and objections to Poyet's signings. So it may have been down to Di Fanti. It makes sense. PDC to WHU? I think they'd be mad to hire him. Ultimate PDC and his west ham history means jack **** to their current generation of players. The fans may love him, but so did we and it didn't save his job with us.
