Thanks for the invite back Nick I have been a silent witness for a while because

1 Ihave enough problems out here without the added stress of slanging matches with Ricc

2 Like Waddo Crazy and others constructive criticsm born out of passion for our team seemed to be viewed as negativith and anti Stoke

3 Despite being a Stokie for over 50 years since I can now not watch them Iwondered if my thoughts based on MOTD highlights were of any value

Anyway here goes with home thoughts from abroad

1 I am still really concerned about our situation I appreciate that at the moment you could perm any 3 from 10 for the drop but 4 points from safety is not enough and sadly I think that Sunderland will be too fired up for us on Wednesday and even if RVP and Rooney are not fit I can not see us removing Utds indian sign on us

2 Because of our lack of goals and defensive frailty I can not see us winning many games especially the 6 pointers if our team spirit is low and the others are fighting for survival

3 Re team spirit if there is trouble off the pitch ( Coates family not as supportive? ) it will affect on the pitch

4 We definitely need Huthy back ASAP but why were we suspect before his injury Playing the ball out of defence rather than hoofing it should not be a problem Or is it that we can not pass as well as not shoot

Generally a win today would be great but PL survival has to be our priority Just hope for a good performance and that we do not get mullered

Although Hughes does not inspire or appear to be passionate we have no alternative but to hope he keeps us up It is obviously not his fault if funds are tight but more journey men pros will not help

    So must continue to KTF

Hopefully you are fully refreshed with your 'Go Juice' SIS.

So far I have kept my New Year's Resolution and not demeaned MH.
That is a good point mate...surely the board must back their No1 choice of manager with a few bob.

One forgotten thing about Pulis...at least we had approx 5 International centre backs on board the good ship SCFC at any given time!!

Good to.chat again pal...hasta la vista

Welcome back SiS, good to hear from you.

Your concerns are all valid ones, but overall I'm not worried yet. Huth shouldn't be far from his return, and that will go a long way to sorting us out at the back.
I also think our defence has been made out to be worse than it is. There's no denying we're not as defensively strong as we have been in previous years, but our goals against column has been made so bad by just 2 games, in which I think we were unfortunate, and the score didn't really reflect the performance. We looked like winning the Newcaslte game before we had 2 players rather stupidly get themselves sent off before letting in 5, and at Liverpool conceded 4 to a freak own goal, a very questionable penalty, and 2 well worked goals, there was only really the 1 goal that we defended badly for.
I also think it went a rather unnoticed how good a game Shawcross had against Everton, he was everywhere, winning everything, but unfortunately hasn't reproduced that since.

    Welcome back SIS <ok>
I can not argue with any of the points you raised, we are in the doggy doos but, I still think we have enough to stay up. Only time will tell of course.
I'm unsure as to why Peter Coates has of yet, not given any funds to MH? It's seem's the Jones - Oddem wingi (could never spell his bloody name) is all but a done deal.
At least the lad has pace, something which showed up in today's game vs Chelsea. I thought we defended very well, and rode our luck at times. But offered little or nothing up front. That's why you get playing Crouch on his own will not work.

I only hope that we at least (have a go) on Wednesday night. Nice to have you guys back on board.

Good to have you back, lets hope we get something against Sunderland, if not any points, a bit of pride will do.
