If the deal was £30m, mainly upfront, with a 25% sell on fee, and he is loaned back to us for at least the rest of the season, then I would say sell him. That would then give us the rest of the season to be assessing potential replacements, with money left over to strengthen the squad, and if he does become as good as Bale, we'll get a good sell on fee (as long as we don't swap it for Forecast!)

 

Vucinic for Osvaldo? Yes please

He may be 30 but the way he plays he has still got another 4 or 5 good years in him. Incredible vision and technique would be a better fit alongside Rickie as he can switch from out and out striker to the number 10 position with ease. A real class act.

 

Why in earth do Juve want to sell Vucinic?!

A question I would like to pose over the Shaw situation. Would Targett be ready to step up?

 

Is Fox injured? If not then I think his absence from the squad is a strong indication that his Saints career is over. Can't comment on Targett personally, but know he has been training with the 1st team and I expect he will be ceremoniously promoted to the 1st team squad in the summer as replacement for Fox. If he can perform like Chambers has this season then that would be a great result.

 

hopefully the hype over targett won't be such that we can't get in a reliable first teamer for him to be understudy to.

 

If we´re looking for some sort of swap deal with Osvaldo leaving we should look to Spain from our point of view.

I´m sure we can find some interesting swap deals with Atletico, Valencia or Sociedad for example

 

So our requirements to replace Dani is a player who is a handsome, friendly, team player (ability to score goals would be useful but apparently not essential).
