£3.5 million????? Don't want Leon to go but what sort of replacement would we get for that sort of money? Because of his age, the offer is probably right for Everton. However, it isn't right for us because he's worth far more than that to us.

Totally agree.

He'd always be first on the teamsheet for me. Amazing player. Always impresses me how he manages to keep possession under pressure and then find a team-mate when surrounded by some of the best players in world football.

Point out the players he has sold in the past that he was happy about selling?

Scotland is the last player I can remember being gutted to lose, but went with my best wishes as his age was against him, and it was for Prem football.

Other than that sales have been the likes of Allen, who was out of our hands, as they met his release clause.

Only criticism I can really remember of Huw was not sorting player contracts out sooner. Instead we had a habit of running them down, as the case was with Pratley and De Vries.

Two current examples are that we are looking to buy a Boro and Bolton player. Huw prefers to keep the cash safe, so only after cheap players. This is Huw all over. And please don't deny it. Even when he splashes out (Bony), he complains that he spent too much. He's a bit out of his depth at this level.

We have broken our transfer record 3 times in the pst 18months <ok>

True, but only because the previous records were so low. Not saying he doesn't spend at all, but often thinks of the cash. That's not always a bad thing, as he's kept us in the black. He's done a very good job, but I just wish he'd splash out a little more often. Especially now when we're in a relegation battle. Will two Championship players be enough?

So is the £12m current record paid for Bony too low too? As that is a hefty wad of cash if you ask me.

There is a difference between being tight fisted as some seem to think Huw is, and being clever. Which is what I think. I wouldn't change our chairmen for anything. He has the clubs best interest at heart, and its easy to say he should splash the cash, as an outsider who doesn't have the finances at hand to deal with. And the long term survival of the club in mind like our chairmen does.

I'm not saying £12 million is too low at all. I agree that Huw has done a great job. It's just that I think we need someone better at the moment than two Championship players. If Everton offer enough and Britton agrees to go, then Huw will sell. Nothing wrong in selling at the right price though. I just think Huw is more easily tempted than others. Yes, it may be just that he's very shrewd and knows when to sell. He's done a great job, so I wouldn't want him to leave either.

But the thing is, when have we sold players that we want to keep?

The only ones that spring to mind were Trundle and Scotland.

When we got offered £5m for Bodde, we told them to stuff it.
We got offered £14m for Allen, and told Liverpool to stuff it (it just so happened that BR knew the release clause)

We have never been a club that sells players for the monetary gain, unless the deal suits us as a club.

So I ask, when was the last time we sold a player for monetary gain, and not for the good of the club?

With Martinez as everton boss then Leon might just jump at the chance of joining his former room mate. they are best friends anyway and are bound to talk a lot. We know Leon is not happy at the way we play now and that might influence his decision. We already know Taylor is not happy and wants to leave and don't be surprised if a few others will want to go as well....We are not the same team anymore and Swansea is not a happy club that is unified at the present time...I wonder why????
