Lyon ****ed themselves mate. They made money from developing players & selling on, but then they started buying in with the CL money and not giving breaks to so many. Eventually, well was dry on young talent, and they missed CL, and as such were living beyond there means. They had the perfect model, and ****ed it.
I'm a ****ing nerd mate. A lot of it comes from being a gambler like, when money is at stake you'd be insane to not know the ins & outs. That, and I just love football, I have 2 games on as we speak, haha.
He looks like a real number 10. Bags of tricks, pacy and can thread a pass through a gnats chuffer. Playing in a good league too. Yes please from me.
There isn't a shortage of Argentinian players at Sunderland these days, and it appears that Gus Poyet is trying to nab another. Sunderland are trying to add to their growing Argentinian contingent with an audacious swoop for Valencia playmaker Ever Banega. The former €20m man has been linked with Manchester United this month, and is believed to be available should the right deal be there. Sky Sports report that Sunderland are the club attempting to strike it. Banega's quality is not in question. He even has a big fan in Pep Guardiola, who has said of him: He is a fantastic player. [You] really have to concentrate in order to limit Banega's effectiveness. The other thing that he is, however, is a bit bonkers. The nice word for it I believe is to say he is a bit of a 'character'. He has something of a reputation for big nights on the drink and smashing up cars. He once even tried to stop a rolling car with his foot at a petrol station and it cost him 6 months of his career. I mean, we love a fearless midfield tackler as much as the next person, but come on. Make no mistake that Banega is a quite brilliant footballer, though. We certainly hope this comes off. Sure, he would represent a bit of a man-management project, but Gus Poyet is probably just the person for the job. We'll keep and eye on it and see how/if it develops. From roker report
he's just played a cracking pass for valencia's equaliser, if anyone fancies checking him out on sky sports...
The game is desperate for some colour and characters and we need some flair because we are workmanlike without being very effective at times. Get the bugger in and take a gamble.
I can't help think his agent is naming us to push the price up to Utd. Then again you never know, lets keep our fingers crossed.
Just how much is this bloke going to cost? Can't see us going 20 million? Is it a loan? As he is playing for Valencia why choose us? Seems wishful thinking this one.
This one won't happen mate, we may have asked, but I dare say we either a) got told to **** off b) got quoted way too high or c) Ever pissed himself laughing. Shame, cos he'd be an ideal kinda player we need.
If we've enquired about him though and also enquired about the lad who got injured it shows we've got some pennies and ambition. A reassuring combo. Lets hope the right player is available and willing.
