Even though we are not playing there are a few matches of note in the Championship. Leicester v Middlesbrough - hard to see beyond another Leicester win, but Middlesbrough have won five of their last six games in the Championship, drawing the other one; maybe, just maybe... Blackburn v Derby - I'd expect Derby to win but a draw could well be on the cards. Ipswich v Reading - Reading are in better form and will be confident of winning, but again this could be a draw. I'd be pretty happy if all of these matches were drawn.
I'm going to back all three to be drawn - the treble is 33-1. If you add in Blackpool, the acca is 120-1.
I'd agree it is unlikely, but stranger things have happened. It would be typical of this league for a side looking to pull 8 points clear to blow it. Dropping down a division, I'm very pleased to see that Dezza has pulled Notts County out of the relegation zone. There are now 16th, only a point above 21st but clearly moving in the right direction with 3 wins out of 4 matches so far in January.
Can't really see Leicester slipping up at home, think they are too powerfull for Boro. Wouldn't be surprised to see the other 2 games end in away wins, but would be quiet pleased if they all ended in draws......
I can see Boro getting something. Leicester was not too impressive against MASSIVE Leeds and such a poor display by a number of their players might continue today (hope so, anyway). Blackburn could also get something.
SportsNet World over here are covering four FA Cup matches today - right now watching Bournemouth v Liverpool, score now 0-1. Bournemouth are putting on a good show, but Lee Camp just had a bit of a howler from a rather tame Victor Moses shot. This is where I saw my first ever R's game in Oct 1966 with my Dad.
Boro's last 6 league games have been impressive. 5 wins, 1 draw, 11 scored 2 conceded. And those 5 wins they kept a clean sheet. Couple of good teams beaten also in Reading and Burnley. Saying that if I was a betting man I'd still edge to a Leicester win as in their last 6 league games they've won them all scoring 15, conceding 5. Should be a good match up though. Blackburn could definitely get something from the home game V Derby. Blackburn are pushing hard for a playoff place now. Both teams have identical recent form of 3 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats. I don't see Reading actually catching us as they're just not putting together any kind of consistent run so I'm not so concerned about their result but would still be nice to see them drop points...just in case we really implode.
Boro look strong to me as I have been keeping a close eye on them from a far ... Foxes very lucky against Leeds who were a much better team all round I have to stand we will win it by ten and maybe it starts today with a Boro win
Bournemouth look good, how's is a good manager and yes trying to get poor players playing well. they look better than us. should have been 1-1 or maybe even winning if they didn't have a **** goalie.
I'm on the outskirts of Coventry, my lads rugby match temporarily abandoned due to storm - gale, hail, thunder, lightening the works, heading in the direction of Leicester. It really was dangerous for a bit, at least looked it from the warm snug bar.....
They are just going back out for the last 15 minutes of the game, just raining now. Sadly I still have most of a pint of Guinness to polish off, so will continue to observe from the bar....
