I think it's clear Marv aint in Pardew's long term planning.

What value will he fetch do you think?

I think £3m-4m will be the best we can hope to get long term...

NEWCASTLE United’s Sylvain Marveaux is wanted on loan in his native France.

Stade Rennais, the midfielder’s old club, and Sochaux have made contact with Newcastle over Marveaux, according to the reliable nufc.com.

Marveaux hasn’t made a first-team appearance for United since late September, and his future may well lie away from St James’s Park.

However, the odds are seemingly stacked against Rennes or Sochaux landing Marveaux on loan, with both clubs unable to match, or even come close to matching, his wages at United.

For his part, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is adamant that Marveaux has not been frozen out at the club he joined from Rennes two and a half years ago.

Speaking earlier this month, Pardew said: “I have never, ever isolated anyone at this football club, and I never will, so everyone has a chance.”

Marveaux made a rare appearance on the United bench for the club’s last home game, the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

A decent player with a good game in him, it would be a pity to see him go for peanuts.

Seems to have fallen off the map after September.
Rumours of a rift with Pards.

Chaps, if you wanna have a go with each other in an abusive manner please do so via PM.
    Let's all just chill.
We support the same team at the end of the day.
Have deleted those two comments to help take the sting out of things.
    Cheers lads.

    A bit more on Marveaux.

    Marveaux offered escape route home.

Having failed to kick a ball in anger since the Capital One Cup win over Leeds United back in September, forgotten man Sylvain Marveaux is set to make a loan exit from Tyneside during the current transfer window.

Both his former club Rennes and relegation-threatened Sochaux have enquired about 27 year-old winger this month, the latter seeking further support for striker Jordan Ayew, recently signed on loan from Marseille.

Claimed interest in Marveaux from Crystal Palace looks to have been kite-flying, although talk of the Eagles going back in for Dan Gosling remains - the midfielder ending up on loan at Blackpool following the collapse of a deal taking him to Selhurst Park back in July 2013.

Finally, talk of Gabriel Obertan making a temporary move to Evian has quietened since appearing early this month, but news that the French side have loaned out their midfielder Dan Nistor could see that revived. Hopefully.

I really like Marv and its a shame Pards isnt adventurous to use him! If not I think we should offer him to Montpiller on loan to ease our relationships with there officials!

just an ok sort of player for me, who doesn't do enough - maybe too lightweight for the rigours of a PL season.
too often pulls out of tackles.

not sure it will be easy to offload him due to his wages.

Good squad player, shame to see him go when players like Gosling and Obertan are still at the club.

Don't mind him going. Another 'fans favourite' who is frustratingly inconsistent and disappears for long periods when given the opportunity. Injury prone too. Basically a poor signing by Pards. They took a punt and it was a poor one. Still better than brie heed. If it can help with Cabella, bye bye.
