Yes being discussed in the "Are we being disrespectful?" thread. Seems they want more cash.

I think that is just a " we want more compo " reaction.

Looks like it's 1-1 in the Compo shoot-out.

It's not about compensation - Watford simply do not want to have another manager poached in similar fashion to Reading who "stole" Brendan Rodgers. We got £500k compensation but that was not what we wanted at the time.

Malky has been good for us - but as many of you guys have said he has not yet achieved anything other than keeping a club with no money out of trouble. He is not the sure fire banker who could do better than Dave Jones - who seemed to do a great job for you.

If money is now for some reason no problem for you guys then surely backing your existing manager with a decent budget instead of selling £33m worth of players which is what your "luke" told us would be a better bet.

The trouble is that you don't look a very attractive club to the outsider - I don't mean that disrespectfully - but like Watford you have been more famous for your financial woes of late than as an opportunity to invest millions in a squad. You have no real history over the last 50 years since you were last in the top flight and your neighbours have come from nowhere to go past you into the top flight.

If you could get Chris Hughton I reckon you would be getting a good man

This is a good point, I never wanted Jones out and agree that he did a great job. Jones would have steadied the ship, made some solid signing and had another tilt at promotion next season. He was the perfect man for the position we were in and I hope we don't regret his sacking.

Could well be right there MJW....I think Malky may well be a safe manager and just do what DJ would have done at best. To some extent this is why Hughton or Di Matteo excites me more....perhaps it is a bit of the unknown. But it is too late to worry about that now.

I was one of the biggest opponents of Jones_out on the 606 board but in reflection perhaps DJ got a bit stale and a move on was better for both parties.

My preference was Hughton but not too bothered that it looks like Malky.

If you get Malky then you will realistically need a couple of years to give him time to build a team - I wonder if your Board is likely to give him that

I hope so, but they appear to want promotion this season or else....

    Cheers H bomb,

Looks like things are moving I expect the next one to say that the Hornets board would like to thank Malkey Mackay for his work and wish him well.

So you actually read my post?

When you didn't reply I thought it was because you may have been in school today.

Now I realise it's because you knew you were wrong.
