To be honest there are only three bands from this century that I like. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys. Nearly everything else is rubbish imo.

You just have to look at the popularity of Coldplay to see how bad things are.

You are not alone. The charts has been pants for years and years. I gave up when Mr Blobby made it. <yikes>

I concur, but I would add Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds to the list of decent bands this century.

I agree (I have all of the HFB stuff), but I consider Noel to be more 90s. That's why I never mentioned him.

I have added him to the list though despite this.

Aye, I wish I was in the 70's when the calibre of music was at the standard of Bay City Rollers and Our Kid. (Having watched the 70's Top of The Pops it made me realise how overrated the quality of music in the charts decades past really is)

It's actually quite easy to like the Ylvis song if you see it for what it is. It's genuinely catchy, the video is brilliant and it's so obviously a pisstake. My daughter and I watch it on repeat and do the dances.

    Shall I ban myself?
