Hobbs-Bruce-Davies in the back 3 for the game v Palace...he's been playing well at the Florists and performed better than Chester in quite a few games last season.
He's been recalled as cover for Chester, and the sale deal was for the end of this season after completing a season long loan. I assume a recall option was left in just in case we needed him back.
Was it Chesters dad who told you this in the car park? Or Brucey himself? Need clarification on your source, but I believe you anyway. You've a fantastic track record at getting things right, notably keeping Proschwitz for the FA cup (I certainly didn't see that one coming).
I'm not unhappy with this. Always rated Hobbs higher than some of the other options we didn't loan or look to sell.
This, if i'm right, is good news for us. I've been told that Allam and Forest wanted to avoid paying Leicester's sell-on clause. Something like a big loan fee but a tiny transfer fee in the summer. Plus, anything that ****s Forest over is good news for Leicester.
I had my famous hobbs signature He is the second best available centre half at thr club not injured currently
Well if he plays for us we obviously can't sell him to anyone other than Forest, unless we sort a loan loan deal similar to the Stewart deal at Leeds. I like Jack Hobbs but I'm not sure that he has what it takes to cut it in the PL.
The fact that you would play Hobbs before McShane jusrt shows how utterly clueless you are. As for Prozzy going...Well that beggars belief. The 2nd Big mistake that Steve Bruce has made within a week.
"He's been recalled as cover for Chester, and the sale deal was for the end of this season after completing a season long loan. I assume a recall option was left in just in case we needed him back. " - Our understanding was that we had him on a season long loan deal and he is out of contract in the summer and we had agreed pre-contract for a perm 2 year deal after that. You had a recall option in this window for emergency but the recent agreement of rumoured £1m payment was to take the recall option out of the deal so he stays with us for the rest of season and we can sign him up in the summer for free. We wouldnt have to pay Hull anything in the summer as he is out of contract. To be honest i appreciate Bruce will do the "best" for Hull City but to me and forest fans he has come across as a bit of a tw*t. Firstly he has seen that Hobbs can still cut it despite binning him off and decides he can make a bit of money out of him selling him to Reading rather than doing the best for Hobbs and sticking to his agreement. I think he would have recalled him back already and tried to but realised that he wouldnt be able to recall him as an Emergency only to then sell him elsewhere, plus Hobbs is actually injured at the moment so i am not sure how he has recalled him anyway. We will see what happens this week but it seems like our owner swallowed his pride and paid up to Hull when morally we should have had to, but as soon as Chester got injured Bruce saw an opportunity that would allow him to recall the lad and screw us over, probably because the money hasnt changed hands yet but the agreement was made; Hull and forest both announced this. Not how i would want my club to do business. If you keep him for the season then fair enough, he will be one of your better defenders and i could kind of swallow if, but if Bruce now sells him to another club, that will be pretty out of order, just to make a couple of quid. I thought you had plenty of cash, just seems a bit underhand. He has been a top player for us since we got him fit and his confindence back up. Any despite not liking Bruce I quite like your club, so good luck this season. Tom
He must be over his injury, as he's been in full training today. I wouldn't describe £1m as 'a couple of quid'.
he hasnt played for a few games for us now, so guess he is back in training. Point is we didnt owe Hull anything for him, he was on a season long loan and out of contract in the summer. A recall due to injury is one thing, but recalling him to sell him is out of order. So as i say our owner just agree to pay the fee anyway to get the lad and still bruce has screwed us over. put it another way we offered you £1m for a defender you wanted rid of that is out of contract in the summer, and the couple of quid i refer to is the amount extra someone is is willing to pay you for him, ovet the £1m we had agreed to pay. our owner in fact said he agreed the deal directly with Allam. shoddy and probably niaive on our side that people stick to a handshake.
Splitty, we don't need to recall him to sell him elsewhere, we don't even need a recall clause. If a club from a country who's transfer window is in, say, February or march, we could sell him then and he'd leave you there and then.
wasnt referring to our pretty generous offer of £1m as a few quid, but the extra you might get from Reading for him over this amount. I expect you will keep him now until the summer, he will play a few games, probably do quite well and then leave in the summer. Either go to us or a lower prem side will do us on wages and sign him.
