Agreed, never really got this FFP thing, ideally it is to protect clubs from going under, but if some mega rich person wants to run the club at a loss why not? Maybe, the running loss, should be ofset by having the same cash in a bank(or similar) incase they pull out.
FFP is totally worthless unless relegation is the penalty for breaking the rules. Fines are no deterrent. Clubs should only spend what they can afford based on turnover, gate receipts, merchandise sales etc to make it a more level playing field. Leeds are seventh in the country in the list of clubs for online sales of merchandise outside of the UK, beating the likes of Man City and Newcastle.
FFP applies if you don't get promoted to the Prem ... so if you overspend and go up, no penalties ... if you roll the dice and fail, trouble .... when Leeds were flying under O'Leary we were OFFICIALLY the fifth biggest club in terms of turnover through the club, raking in £37m in one year Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

HI Shako Hope you are well? Cant believe the club goes from saga to saga. Its almost laughable if it wasnt so serious for us mere mortals who love the club!
I thought GFH wanted a sustainable future for the club. I dont think this Italian geezer will give us that. But I guess GFH are an investment bank & are only interested in making money out of the club, they dont care if its 'dirty' money. If Haigh & his consortium cracked the deal, they would be better for the Clubs future & best interests & I had hoped that with Haigh working for GFH he could have negotiated the conclusion of the deal before this Italian jumped in?? Smoke & Mirrors........ Cloak & Daggers..........
So if the eyetie went direct to GFH,to buy all their shares, would leave Haigh jobless. Just a thought.
