Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed that they are considering signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani dos Santos this summer.

Dos Santos has failed to establish himself in the first-team squad at White Hart Lane since his move from Barcelona in 2008 and has been farmed out on loan to Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander in the last two years.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of the 2010-11 campaign on loan at Primera Division side Racing and scored five goals in 16 league appearances, impressing the bosses at Sevilla.

"We are keen on Dos Santos, yes," said the Andalucian club’s president Del Nido, according to Eurosport. "But we won't pay any price for him. Any deal must be reasonable."

Tottenham and Sevilla finished fifth in the Premier League and La Liga respectively last season and will enter the play-off round to feature in the 2011-12 Europa League campaign.

Finally he can leave for good :)

On a serious note, good luck to the lad, one way or another it just wasn't meant to be, I'm sure he can set another league alight in the way he was born to <ok>

I know we aren't very popular with Del Nido because of Juande Ramos so I doubt he will bid too much for GDS at all.

I think that our loans for Dos Santos have been fairly pointless and a bit stupid.
He's never going to adjust to the English game if he never plays in it, so why send him out to Turkey and Spain?
He did well at Ipswich and then we let him go abroad. <doh>

If nobody's willing to pay decent money for him, then we should either keep him and play him in the Europa League and domestic cups, plus use him as cover for Lennon or we should loan him out to someone like QPR.
If Warnock can get Taarabt playing, then he can probably do the same for Dos Santos.

Not last season but the one before, he was just starting to get on the right side of 'Arry, and influencing the game when he played for us. Was at Preston away in the cup, he was playing well and to a decent extent controlling the game then he got himself injured, went off the pitch and then that was it, by the time he came back to any sort of fitness his face just didn't fit anymore and off he went on his cycle of loans.

Always thought he had the ability to be a decent second striker, and was getting there on the fitness and physicality needed for the EPL then it just seemed to disappear... if we can sell him for a decent price, or use him as p/x for a player we need then so be it but with a bit of confidence in him shown by the club he could be a decent understudy to VDV and could save us a bit of cash in two to three years time.
