Its the suspensions that worry me, he's no good to us in the stands. I agree with you that he would inject far more guile and grunt in the middle and I would defo have him over Whelan.
Re-Cattermole, he would certainly add a bit of `steel` into our midfield, because I do have my doubts about N`Zonzi`s dedication to the cause, but as everyone has stated, his disciplinary record is terrible, and with our reputation I wonder if he`d ever stay on the 90mins.!! There are also rumours regarding Louis Holtby of Spurs . Does anyone know what sort of a player he is?? He`s only 23 and seems to me to be a better long term prospect than Cattermole, but is he any good??
Holtby cost Spurs a lot of money...but due to the other mega expensive players that cost AVB his job, he didn't get much game time. A good player tho...typical German midfielder, better than any of our lot.
I thought he was around £1.5 million like that? Meaning Spurs might be tempted with a £5 million bid On another story: Falcao might have quite a substantial injury, meaning Riviere (us) and Traore (Everton) deals might be off. Furthermore Riviere scored a good goal tonight and he has been in fine form, gonna be a bummer missing out on him if it is down to Falcao's injury!
I thought Holtby cost a fair bit, but just done a bit of searching, and yeah, he signed for an 'undisclosed fee' believed to be around 1.5m But I've also read Shalke want him back, but can't afford. Don't know the situation there, are they in a bad way financially, or are spurs asking too much?? Or is he on a big wage now? That is disapointing news from Monaco, had there been any update on Flacaos injury? And welcome back Nick, forgot to say it in my last post. Do you want your old account back, or are you staying bornagain?
The Traore deal might be the one that is called off and Riviere is the one that might go through which is good!
Morning Sandor, Thanks for the welcome, I'm just sorry that ricc had gone. Smithers sussed me out immediately so...yes please, I would appreciate my old account back. Never was an ABBA fan. Have a good day...Nick
THE SENTINEL: Glenn Whelan could be on his way to Norwich if Stoke land Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole.
Hurrah...anyway re Clattermore. MH could start a new trend, buying hopeless players from Sunderland, ah hang on
Peter Crouch was 5/1 to join QPR last night, but we’ve seen some money on the Stoke striker linking up with his old boss Harry Redknapp this morning. He’s now 7/2 to be a QPR player by the end of the month, but Crystal Palace remain favourites at 2/1.
I'll give him a lift in one of his Ferraris, or rather let Eamon Dumpthy (sp) do it. One of his biggest fans...where's Pulis when you need him.
As we've seen, Pennant has gone, and ESPN are reporting Edu is back off to America, freeing up a little of the wage bill. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1692063?&cc=5739 And there are also reports Jones might be off to Cardiff in a swap deal for Odemwinge. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-close-kenwyne-jones-transfer-3058767?
Exchanging one stroppy character for another then Sandor. I am not convinced by Odemwigie but I suppose it does indicate movements behind the scene and an attempt to slowly get shut of some of the deadwood and freshen up the squad.
