Good Morning Peeps, The takeover took another twist last last as Adam Pope revealed, having spoken to the people in the know that Massimo Cellini is actually part of David Haigh's consortium, and not a rival bidder. There seems to be confusion whether the takeover has completed or not. I think GC has it right when he spoke to the YEP recently. Cooper said: âNo-one is asking for fine details, financial figures or anything like that.âAll the supporters want to know is that the situation is going to deliver an outcome which is in the best interests of Leeds United. The longer this goes on, the harder it is to feel confident about that.â That kinda sums up how I feel anyway. Agree? Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio believes Cellino is in London to put pen to paper. Di Marzio claims that Cellino's first priority is a goalkeeper and that Queens Park Rangers' Julio Cesar and Arsenal back-up Emiliano Viviano are the most likely targets. Personally I would prefer to see a top notch commanding central midfielder with skill, vision and passion that knows how to pass, then we need another forward to complement Ross up front. Thoughts?
Morning all. Hard to see how collini would pass the leagues test but whatever. How any sportswriter could write about Leeds transfer targets under Collini when no one knows what money will be made available is strange. On to brighter stuff, a few of us wandered to the dark side last night and spent some time in the dark red room with the scummers. Christ they're a miserable bunch and not at all up for a laugh, don't even see the funny side of being called scummers. I've had two showers since so I think all possible infections have been washed away. They're demise is actually turning this into one of my most enjoyable seasons ever and not at all bothered about second half to ours. I can watch the pl again after years away
A goalkeeper is the least of our needs at the moment. So Mr C. please stump up some moeny for a decent forward to play along side Ross. Nothing else needed at this time.
Lets hope the lid gets lifted off today. GC is stating that its a done deal and Cellino is part of the group, which is fantastic news if true. Cellino will ensure we have the cash to compete and I'm not bothered that he may be a crook because he cannot be as bad as Bates. Cellino wants success on the field and knows thats the only way to make serious money. Cellino taking over the club by himself at some stage will be great news too. I love Italy
One thing I read on twitter that made me smile: "This current Leeds United Board are about as transparent as a brick wall" Should I dig out the quotes they were making when they took over about how they were going to be honest and transparent with the fans
Morning all. Agree we need a keeper, but not a priorty. That being said, if Kenny gets injured we are in serious trouble. Dont get me wrong though, Im happy as paddy being our number one. ANOTHER CM please and a forward then target two new wingers next season
Bucks, why would we want two new wingers? Stewart and Kebe (and Aniyibi) haven't yet had a fair chance to show what they can do.
How many games does someone require to show you they are not the quality you need? Stewart played 18 times for Charlton he failed to impress. Brown has hardly kicked a ball for us this season and look what he did when he got his chance at the weekend. If these players are serious they keep themselves fit and they grab their chance when it comes. Another example is Pugh, he grabbed his chance and he had hardly kicked a ball for us in two seasons.
Bucks whilst I agree in principal, I'm going to try and point out a slight difference which could explain it> Those new wingers are only just learning how the team play and who does what and when. I'm hoping thats the reason for their shoddy performances, but by next week if they haven't improved I'm right behind you
If Collini gets on board, we may be in a position to look further than piss poor loanees and leftovers. Maybe just maybe, we may find ourselves with some foreign signings that may bring a whole new dimension to our play. I know some don't like to believe it, for there are lots of quality footballers outside the UK,an area we rarely tap into because of being broke, but this could open up a whole new market. Imagine a transfer window when we mightn't be confined to talking about the Wells, Sharpes and Bourkes as potential signings (not that we were able to get any of them anyway). Of course if Haigh brings collini in, hell be greeted with open arms. If collini scuppers Haigs deal and goes it alone, hell be the devil incarnate with some
Well kebe won't be here next season And Stewart hasn't Impressed me all Season except for the goal against us. And there both keeping the saints kid out the line up. I hope they come good for the run in and I've Always rated Kebe.
Hate to be negative but tbh I don't expect anything to change, even if a deal does go through we still won't do **** all. Don't get me wrong I hope a deal does go through an we splash the cash but how many times have we heard this before?? And it always ends the same way!
I disagree, if we don't get one in this January we will definitely need one in the summer, Kenny is **** and we will never get promoted with him in the team imo.
Kebe goes back to palace in the summer (unless we get promoted which lets face it, won't happen) and Ariyibi is too young to rely on. We need at least 2 good options for every position so I would say a winger for each side will need to be signed in the summer. Weirdly I have already got a list of players I think we should be trying to sign in the summer....
