Maybe people are coming round to the idea of it, but if it happens many of those people will simply stop going.
It would be good to win a PL game this year; I don't care what he thinks of the name-change, as his remarks are false and the words of a manager cosying up to his owner - what happened to the traditionalist, who would have a word? Focus on the football, SB, or lose the respect you have been building.
There was a swift and dramatic change in his words regarding the change maybe 7-10 days after he suggested his "cup of tea and chat". I suspect he raised it with all good intentions, hoping genuinely to get Allam to cool on it a bit, and was told in no uncertain terms to mind his own business and concentrate on the football. Perhaps, he was even told to get behind it. Seems that way to me.
But how many will actually stop going remains to be seen. AA is probably calculating that even IF all 1,600 members of CTWD a) go to each home game and b) would subsequently stop going due to the name change, then others would take their places. I hope no one walks away from the KC over this but some fans clearly feel so strongly that they will do so. I am not an advocating what AA is doing re the name of the club and as I have said on another thread I am pro the Allams but against the name change. However I will be at the kc next season come what may. I hope you are there also. continuing to shout for CITY whatever the "official" name of the club is at that point - in the hope and knowledge that should the name be changed, any future owner may be persuaded to reverse that decision.
You are spot on with this. I have previously commented on his live TV interview before the Chelsea match when among other comments he called the team Hull Tigers saying that was what the owner wanted them to be called and what a wonderful owner the club had.
Interesting, on the day Steve Bruce speaks on the name change again we have another thread on the manager that saved us from relegation to League 1, got us promoted to the Premier League for the first time, kept us up and wasn't in charge when we got relegated.
I posted last week, I believe Bruce was given a big Jan budget for strikers on the condition he came into line with the name change. Lets face it SB doesn't give a toss what we are called as long as we stay up and he rebuilds his reputation.
The idea for the namechange was to make more money though. I can see merchandising sales to Hull raised fans easily going down 50% maybe much more. Mr Allam will never make that up from Asia. I don't think it's about money anymore for Mr Allam. It's about him getting his way. It's about his bruised ego.
I can see the name change going through unfortunately and the sale of merchandise dropping. AA will then say the fans are showing him they don't want him at the Club so pulls out, sooner than admit it was him who was wrong.
agreed. it will happen and life will go on much as it does now with foam hands, drums, music after goals and general leicesterism to the fore. when the allam's sell, it will all return to hull city. quite simple really. now i begin to wonder if CTWD have a hidden agenda, which personally i neither agree nor disagree with, will almost certainly involve city doing a 'bradford' down the leagues. in saying that, i think we will be saved from the full 'portsmouth'....
Yes exactly it is all about "don't you dare challenge or disagree with anything I say or decide" and that is equally directed to The FA, The Council, SB as well as the fans
