Haigh and Flowers, joined by Patel and Cellino ... total £41m ... looks like Cellino will probably end up buying the lot once he's sold Cagliari where he doesn't have a stadium, and the makeshift one can only take 5000 so he is losing money big time ... wants out of Serie A

Worries me as well Josh. The last thing we need now is BMD's position put under any threats of a sacking. He needs a couple of seasons to move some players on and get one or two more in.

If this deal is correct then we have a future!!!! Cellino has the cash which means we will have at least 2 more signings before the window closes. Cellino will take the lot in the next 12-months and at last we'll have an owner with cash allowing us to go for it at last.

I'm chuffed and not arsed if he is a bandit

Morning RCDM, only when it's been announced on the OS will I believe it. Now without sounding like Mr Negative, I hope it's not true. We've already had one crook here, we don't need another. Especially if he interfere's with team affairs.<ok>

    Hi Shako,

I'm glad to hear someone has the same thoughts as me on this one.

Surprised so many are welcoming him with open arms, money or no money.

Probably something to do with lack of options. Billionaires not queueing up to buy us yet

I'm just not sold on this guy. In general I'm not a fan of Italians. He may have money, but I don't want him deciding what players to bring in and I certainly don't want a team of cheating diving foreigners. Hasn't been announced as official yet anyway.

That is exactly why I welcome this deal if it's true. This club cannot compete anymore and I mean compete with small clubs because they either have rich owners or parachute payments. We don't own the ground or training facilities and spend £2m each year on rent alone. We deserve someone with cash who can buy these assets back and able to inject cash for the squad.

The choice is a simple one for me:

    1) Carry on listening to PR from the owners and the manager not able to do what he wants because he can only get 2nd rate loans, who are rejects from smaller clubs. But never mind the MD is a fan.

    2) Put some serious cash into the club to drag it back into the premier league, make serious money for doing so and own the ground and TA. If the manager wastes the money he will be sacked .... Yes I can live with that.

Sounds like another front man to deliver empty promises, timing is great also a week to strengthen the team?, no chance.

Its not quite as simple as that though is it.

We're talking about a crook, doesn't matter how much you praise his money.
We're also talking about someone who sacks the manager more often than he takes a dump, which is very very far from being a recipe for success.
Money doesn't = promotion, and there's the financial fair play rules to get around too.

What happens if he pumps some money in (somehow getting round financial fair play), sacks a few managers because they don't get us promoted and the cycle continues? We would be no better off, in fact worse off.

    Anyway, we'll see won't we.

This surfaced on twitter last night, so I can see how the Pearson bid of just £7m was rejected out of hand ... seems Haigh was approached by "Celine" to join as a partner and add cash, so the threat must be there to go against Haigh if they don't join up ... I wonder if Celine is just publicly posturing to annoy the Italian FA because of his stadium issues?

RCDM you keep stating that he's a crook, but I've not seen any evidence of it and as he's living in the USA neither have the yanks otherwise he wouldn't be allowed in. He may be a twat to do business with, he may be areal coont, but I've not read anywhere that he gets involved in team afairs, on the contrary he lives in Miami and has a guy he can trust running the club. He has given managers plenty of cash and been let down .... So agree that if a manager doesn't do what he promised to do he's going to get the bullet.

I'm sick of limping through season after season watching shyte clubs get promoted and earn £95m, and then watching them fail and get another £48m for failing. Its becoming a joke and we are a laughing stock at the moment. We don't scare anyone and everyone wants to beat us. We have fielded team after team of average players and the crowd willing them on to be world beaters, yet we can't string 4 passes together. Its sad but I think after 10-years we deserve a bit more

In 1996, the 53-year-old was held in custody for eight days and later convicted of deceiving the EU and the Italian Ministry for Agriculture out of £7.5million. He plea-bargained a reduced and suspended 14-month sentence.

Then in 2001 he was handed a 15-month suspended sentence for false accounting at the Serie A club he controls.
