Bustino75/Tamerlo, two pounds is a length at a mile in handicapping terms but allegedly Peslier weighed out one pound overweight then changed his boots and weighed in two pounds overweight. I did not see any report on whether he changed the boots before or after the race. If he had weighed out two pounds overweight and then changed to the lighter boots he would have weighed in light and been disqualified. I am not sure why weighing in overweight did not get him disqualified because if carrying too much weight does not have a sanction then every trainer in the land would be fiddling their handicappers by running them a stone overweight to get their handicap mark lowered for running down the field.
I apologise for my comments regarding the most ridiculous post ever read on this forum because Shergar has another strong challenger to his own crown here!! Canford Cliffs was comfortably on top and there is no way that the weight made any difference at all. Throughout the final 1/2 furlong Canford Cliffs was well in command. Obviously Dick Turpin would have been 5 lengths in front of both if he'd been allowed to run by Richard Hannon . . .
Atleast my buddy Flyingbolt knows the difference between very good horses and horses who have the potential to be great! Goldikova and CC are very good but Frankel has something more, he has the ability to put up performances the likes of CC and Goldi just aren't capable of. Everyone will see just how classy Frankel is in the Sussex, when he beats CC very easily! Richard Hughes can hang on to CC as long as he wants, but he won't run down Frankel, if Frankel is ridden correctly. I'm delighted some people honestly believe CC can beat Frankel, because atleast there will be a decent price on offer about Frankel
