Imagine if we win a cup? Engraved on the trophy 'Hull Tigers' ***Shudders***. 50/50, but I hate the prospect.
Far too early to tell. Depends on whether there is a campaign to reclaim our name. If there isn't then no.
That was discussed at length on the name change thread a couple of days ago. It's a pathetic & rather childish response to the thread posted earlier regarding the poll which was carried out by HCSS. Anybody would think you don't like what you're seeing on it.
Interesting question ... However it's still my home town team and I enjoy the football experience. I don't agree with the name change but I'm not going to sit at home on a Saturday pretending I don't care about our team. Also I'm convinced if it does change it will eventually change back come a new owner. Life's too short to stop one of my true pleasures .... So Yes
This. Also, those who say no, nice of you to hand AA his victory he deserves. Why would anyone stop going? Do you go to see the name Hull City AFC on 11 shirts or do you go to watch a game of football?
If they viewed the club as dead due to the name change (some posters have expressed that view even if they've not posted here) and wanted to go and watch a breakaway club that they felt a part of instead.
Filey, you even took part in the previous debate only 2 days ago. This seriously smacks of small minded desperation. Come in from the pub, see HCSS mirror poll, don't like what you see, panic, post a repeat debate in desperation. It would be interesting if you could see how soon you started this thread after you'd viewed the other. "Couldn't stop going if I wanted to....which I don't. Same owner..same players...same stadium... Same nickname....same manager...same colours...same home city.... Right or wrong to me it's just a little name change... Last season...and this season have been a huge positive for me....NOTHING to do with league we are in..."
I could well be watching AFC Hull City on 11 shirts playing football. As I said far to early to say one way or the other and the FA hasn't made its decision yet.
I thought we'd put a stop to new threads about name change unless it was something significant? As this was debated only two days ago in the thread regarding the name change should it not be merged with the name change thread? It's hardly new or significant as ut was debated so recently.
I go to support my team. There's been plenty of times the football hasn't been worth watching (think the 90's) so it's not that. Late 70's people would ask me why I go, my answer was "because it's City". Daft answer but similar to those who climb mountains because they are there. I've followed City with a passion despite the crap football and stupid owners because I felt part of "it". The "it" is the name because it's the only constant. I have never felt so disenfranchised from "my" club as this season and it's getting worse. When we lost to Palace, for the first time ever, I wasn't really bothered, hard to believe only 5 and a bit years since Wembley. I see Assem Allam as taking something away from me despite his protestations that he is giving me something better. He is taking the soul and replacing it with a year or two of premier league football. He has done something that I never thought possible in a football club, he has caused akin to a civil war between fans. That will be his legacy, not a successful football team.
Try and keep it as a yes/no/maybe rather than going backwards and forwards. I'm letting it run for now as it's not unreasonable to check up on everyone's position once in a while. If it starts going tit-for-tat I'll start cutting posts.
