Not seen too much of him, but if the speculation is genuine then as you say, it probably means we are selling first.

Mind you it also has this in that article:
"Meanwhile Joe Kinnear, Newcastle's director of football, has insisted that no players will be leaving in January." Kinnear said: "I will not let any player leave Newcastle United in this transfer window."

I heard he said we might not be signing anyone, but wasn't aware that he'd 'insisted' we won't sell. Interesting.

He looked decent for Basle against Chelski in CL.
Since then his value seems to have gone up with Liverpool sniffing about.

Last player to come to England from Basle was that Cabral at Scumberland and look how that turned out <laugh>

I'm certain he will go to the dippers. They pay top dollar as we know.

I'd love for this to happen. A top player who would go some way to replacing Cabaye

Hearing that it's a done deal for Cabaye to go to PSG, Cabella to come to the Toon, BUT, at the end of the season. Anyone seen confirmation?

    Obi <ok>

I most certainly am, think Rodgers is doing a great job so far. Just hope we can continue our good form into the second half of the season.

You seem to be doing pretty well for yourselves eh? I remember your first few games going quite bad and I actually feared the worst for you but you've most certainly turned it around, so well done <ok>

If you can keep Remy and can add a few players in this window (a few French signings maybe?! <whistle) then you'll certainly be up there with the rest of us, maybe not in the Europa or CL places but certainly in and around 8-10th <ok>

Would be amazing if you finished above the Mancs <laugh>

If we finish above the Mancs I'll let you come along to Fenwicks window to see me bare my arse in the centre of town.

I think we should bump Oba's price up a bit to keep teams from jumping in for him.

I've seen him play quite a bit for basel. Last year he was a bit like Hatem, all skill but not a lot of end product, no goals, no good crosses. This year, they've really taught him how to become effective and he's been a total game changing influence for Basel. That said, axpo league is a long way off from EPL, but I think he'd be a good signing. Would he be a good signing for liverpool? I doubt he'd get a game, another talent wasted.

Hmmm, fair point. I expect HBA would look totally classy in that league and could well gain an impressive goals/assists record with a regular run out.

As you say, if Liverpool go in for him, it will probably lead to yet another wasted career on the bench, being loaned out and ultimately sold for a fraction if the original fee.
