Interesting to note that on Saturday, the stewards asked Hendo for an explanation for Stand To Reason's running. They could offer no reason, and were ordered to have the horse routinely tested. Makes me curious as to why they didn't ask about Meadowcroft Boy too, who was beaten by almost as much, and about whom expectations were greater than STR's. Maybe neither were just not good enough - how shocking would that be?
If pull the plug would have not just got touched off in the last at Southwell I would have a big 5 timer going on your Ghostwing Ron. I still have fourfolds with Grandad Mac, Ace Master and Noble Citizen but the five fold would have been in another league with Pull the pin being 9-1, touched off a very small short head. I never usually bet at Southwell but just thought a few looked reasonable prpositions today.
