Morning Folks, Never thought I'd be staring five straight defeats in a row but that's what has happened, albeit a much improved display. Against the Foxes, we struck the post, missed a one on one, saw two goal line clearances and a missed header with the keeper beat.... Have to say I'm proud of the lads, but when you have a look at the line up, there weren't many of McDermotts players. 1m pound players Murphy and Wootton were benched and Zuliukas was dropped from the entire squad, not great for a player who has just signed a new two year contract... New signings Kebe and Stewart did not have brilliant games, you wouldn't associate the way they played as Premier class, though it may take them several weeks to bed in. I was a little surprised to see Pugh and Zuliukas dropped from the entire squad, unless anyone knows if they picked up injuries at Hillsborough? Did they have too much to say at the clear the air meeting last Sunday? Today's debate is regarding plastic fans!!! Those of you / us that are unable to travel to home and away games!!! One frustrated fan took to twitter after the game, and was criticizing just that. Why should fans that give up their weekends and spend thousands of pounds a year have the same bragging rights as armchair fans? Unfortunately as many of you will know, I manage a firm of Estate Agents at the other end of the Country, and am unable to commit myself to games, I wish I could. Does this make me, and people like me any less of a fan?
Morning. Just to stir the pot, what do you think of Scum fans who buy a shirt, live in surrey and never go to a game? Why would Leeds "supporters" doing the same be thought of in a different light? No opinions were expressed in the posting of this response.
Morning Elland. Decent performance Saturday; a game we could and should have won. Expect us now to push on starting with Ipswich in 10 days. On Zaliukas and others, they'll just have to work their way back into the team. Zaliukas has now found the step up in class that is required from the Scottish PL to the Championship. Murphy and Mowatt should look at Brown and Austin to see what's going to be required to get back in the first team. Wooten will get back into the team & is a good back up to the two that start. Just shows how the squad is developing by what's now on the bench. On Stewart & Kebe, they can only get better the more we stick with this 442 formation. All we really need now is for some support for Ross. Had Smith been playing, he would have scored the header that Ross couldn't quite reach. Heyho, big improvement on recent performances.
Glory, some of us live south of the Humber by a long way and can't get to games up north as much due to work difficulties. But when games come south, as they may do a lot next season, I and plenty of others will be there supporting as best I can.
Please read my post again. I didn't express an opinion, and I certainly didn't criticize anyone. I posed a question. My opinion will come later and it won't be critical of anyone.
Morning plastics I'm underwhelmed at the moment because on the one hand we have seen some great strides made since Bates was booted out. Although I'm now worried about the direction of travel. BMcD always ticked all the boxes for me, but in the last 2-months he and we have gone backwards and I don't know what the hell is going on. Strange that all the players he brought in were not around, except for the 2 new wingers who were not good. We have a squad that was purchased to work with a 4-4-2 and BMcD changed it with his new players but that system stopped working and so too did those players? It doesnt make sense, unless the 'clear the air meeting' showed some players were lacking. Still a couple of weeks to go in the window and I think we need to buy someone up front. Sick of Haighs PR machine because he just paints nice pictures instead of giving us facts. We're sking and will still be skint when this takeover finally happens I'm not getting involved in the plastic debate because it happens every year. If we ever got promoted you will see club membership triple and season ticket sales double. We would have a full house week after week, simply because the fans will come back to see proper football. This doesn't make them plastics and in some ways it makes them smart because for 10-years we've seen the club go backwards and fans been robbed and tricked and fed shyte
Fair points DOC. But occasionally you have to take a step back to then go forward. I hope that the performance against Leicester will be start of us pushing up the table. Its a game we could and should have won. And that in itself is a measure of success. But the biggest thing for me was the amount of time the ball was on the floor or was lofted up to a winger's feet, rather than hoofed up for someone to try to run on to. Saturday showed that we are getting there and we just have to stick with it.
Morning elland Yes it makes you a ”plastic fan” and your views is not wanted, not valid and you are not wanted as a fan. You have absolutely no right coming on here and share your views with us “proper” fans Nha just kidding, got you going there didn’t I Well as you can see I’m not a “proper” fan, I’m just a plastic one. I just wanted to be a part of this well oiled Leeds machine and bask in the glory of all the trophies we have won 
Stoopo at JA606 had put out this article he had found somewhere on the nett. I think it is a good articl, what do you think? "Well at first I had very serious doubts about Mr Haigh and GFH and actually asked Mr Haigh over twitter if it was time to put up or shut up when the first T/O was occurring.. Bates Paranoia in all honesty.. But when you look at just what has been going on behind the scenes it starts to paint a bigger picture of improvement. There have been issues at Leeds United far far greater than the playing staff and these are the issues that MUST be resolved before any real attempt at promotion is taken on board.. When we get to the prem we need to be a well oiled machine, When BMC says he is trying to build something that is exactly what he means.. from ground up a total rebuilding process.. even down to the youth system or tea ladies!! Everything.. Think of it like restoring an old antique chest of drawers.. you dont go and varnish the thing before you have gotten rid of the woodworm or done the correct repairs.. Infact what you will have to do is strip the thing down to its bare essentials and work from there, repairing where needed cutting out the rot and making additions where needed.. Unfortunatly repairing a fine antique to its former glory is going to take a lot more time, effort and money than it would to pop to IKEA and get something new made out of MDF (Red Bull).. But at the end when the work is all done you are left with something more beautiful and amazing then any quick fix could ever offer.. So in this comment or rather my open letter to fans whom are disgruntled with current performances i say this.. Give it time.. Im very certain that Mr Haigh and co will do us proud its just a matter of time.."
Just think its very sad when we get out gunned for Wells by Town until we get some investment in we will go nowhere I don't mean freebies either talk of Lita and Moore not for me.Good morning from a cold but sunny Bardsey
Morning all. Well said Doc. Exactly right and saved me the bother of saying it. On the subject of plastic fans, I've attended many matches over the years, spent shedloads of money and even drove to matches. Family circumstances change as do finances and responsibilities. I have to be far more selective of where I spend my cash these days. Therefore I don't go over at present because I believe whats on offer is a pile of ****e. A standard of football I can watch beside me in League of Ireland if I want. I love Leeds as much as ever and despair for the sad state were in and lack of ambition within the fan base. There were 7k fans missing Saturday but they're no less a fan than the ones at the game in my eyes. If that makes me plastic, what the hell. When you reach your fifties, one positive thing is you don't give a damn what anyone thinks of you or your opinions
Just to throw another debate into the hat for the morning. If the takeover is awaiting Football League approval and that is the hold up, do we not think Shaun Harvey may be having a little bit of influence in drawing this out? After all, he is extremely egotistical and loves to blow his own trumpet. He also spent nearly a decade as a yes man for Bates so I can imagine Santa Monoclaus laughing himself silly at our expense.
Morning all and I agree, well said Doc on all accounts. I am losing faith with the manager and now it is evident that he has wasted a vast amount of money on players. Is getting rid of him the answer, I don't think so although I believe he is one or two defeats away from seeing the door. How must the board feel when they give a manager money to spend, he spends it and then the players do not get in the team and the manager asks for more money to spend? The debate about Kebe and Stewart - I don't follow or understand the argument for "They can only get better"? Kebe is experienced, Stewart has played 18 games already for Charlton why can they only get better, why can't they get worse or no better?? Plastic fans debate - I have watched Leeds play a good few times, in recent years probably just a couple of live games a season, usually away. A trip to Elland Road for me and back with tickets and something to eat means I haven't a lot of change out of £80 and I just can't afford that expenditure at the moment.
Ristac, why do you say that BMD has wasted money? He's still building. The money he's spent on Murphy and Wooten is an investment for the future. He's still working through building a team and gettig a style of play that will take us forward. He started the season playing a diamond that worked to a degree at the time. He then changed to 352 because we didn't have any natural wingers. We've now got natural wingers and have moved to 442. Saturday saw us keep the ball on the floor and give the side possibly going to up as champions a really hard time. Yes, we lost. But its the first time in a while that we've really played some good stuff. So let's get behind the Manager & back him for the foreseeable. He will prove, given time, to be the best Manager we've had in a generation.
Because its a lot more complicated than we all thought? The documents were with the FL before Xmas but were sent back because there was a request about something that needing answering. This was sent back to the FL just before Xmas and we expected ratification immediatley after the new year. Didn't happen as something else was required and then GFH make announcement in the middle east borse but still no ratification because other stuff needs doing. You have to ask the question why these people thought they were finished when they clearly wern't. Charlton sell the club inside 2-weeks, we go through 10-months for sale 1 because of bent Bates and you would think the people who were in charge of sale 2 would know what they were doing? Theres a lot of money changing hands between faceless shareholders who are all making money out of this yet the club go backwards. Leeds fans are they or just shrewd businessmen who are in it for money? I rest my case: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...th-high-on-leeds-united-sale-dubai-mover.html
remember one thing, when new takeover is complete, we will have more board members, shareholders all who will be paid salaries and expenses. Where do you think that will magically appear from. More paws dipping into an ever diminishing pot
Leicester fans actually believe Knockaert or Dyer are better than Max Gradel and that Max only scored goals in league one haha
Ah ok, they'll work for nothing just for the love of Leeds United. I wouldn't and Im a supporter. This place is beginning to turn into a comedy
