Jelavic did all you could ask of someone getting absolutely nothing from his midfield, not sure how you can label him as poor, his footwork a couple of times to press forward was sublime.
He got little service, but he really didn't look very impressive, he's painfully slow. It was only one game, I'm sure things will improve.
I admire your independent thinking - but he's heading for one of the most overwhelming mom wins of the season, which must tell you something.
Which pretty much sums him up for me. Doesn't look interested half the time and spends the rest throwing himself on the floor at the slightest contact. I was thinking that he'd maybe try a bit more yesterday knowing that with Jelavic and Long coming in and Aluko and Brady due back soon, he'd have to do something special to stay in the starting 11.
I ruled Sagbo out for falling over when anyone came near him, I thought he was doing an Altidore impersonation. I'm assuming that's why Bruce pulled him.
Sagbo won't be playing next week at all methinks. Long and Jela upfront, if he brings on a striker it'll be Fryatt.
Its a cliché I know.....But it is about opinions...TBH I thought Sagbo was the best of a bad bunch...Put himself about and held the ball up well. Thought he must have taken a knock...The fans around me where all wondering why he had been pulled off.
Rosie seems very determined towards the end of this interview, talks about how many wins etc. there have been with him in the team and that he should be playing every week
Aye gets the hump about not playing, good on him. 4 at the back and he's in my team every week, 3 at the back and not so sure. While Figgys in his slump yes. But a left foot would help, missing that chance you'd want Figgy on that.
Rosenior Davies McGregor, although at fault for the goal, but kept us in the match earlier. Is Hudd out just for 1 game (FA cup)?
Was just thinking about it and when Brady comes back if we are still playing 3-5-2 I wouldn't mind playing Rosenior on the right in a back 3. With Chester out injured the only other options are McShane, Faye or Figueroa and I think Rosie would be the best choice there. As we saw yesterday he had plenty of ability with defensive headers and he's taller than Chester. He can play the ball out which is much better than having players like Bruce hoofing the ball away or McShane looking likely to give it away in a dangerous position. Against players like Hazard Chester seemed out of his depth when pushed into the right of a bank of four, whereas Rosie would be more natural.
Good call, that does sound like a sensible solution and if we can get Brady in for Figgy at LWB, as well as Aluko in for Koren and Long in for Sagbo, then that should give us a better balance and hopefully a much stronger attacking presence without unduly compromising our defensive stability.
My team for a 3-5-2 fully fit would be: -------------McGregor------------- ----Rosenior--Davies--Chester----- --Elmo--Thudd--Livermore--Brady-- --------------Aluko---------------- ----------Long----Jelavic----------
Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking, although my only question mark would be as to how comfortable Chester would be on the left of the three?
Yeah I wasn't sure about that but he is uncomfortable on the right when players cut onto his left foot whereas on the left he would prefer them cutting in onto his right. He and Rosie could also switch depending on which opposition wingers were playing, and obviously Brady would give cover.
