Just had a txt from my pal with the corporate hospitality and he said big rumour around there today was Fletcher going to Everton this window and Scocco coming in here as replacement.

Just a rumour mind but he said it was from a few people up there. May explain why he has been used sparingly and hadn't been up to scratch.

Then again of course it might not happen at all.

    Thoughts?

Ok with it myself. Fletch hasn't looked up to it for a while now. Big shame as I like the bloke on form.

Would like to keep him personally, but I don't think Gus style of football suits him, Everton play very similar stuff though so I'm not sure. Would be behind lukaku, but I'd like to see fletcher start ahead of jozy

Don't know anything about this Scocco lad, so couldn't say if I'd like him in place of Fletch.

Its a tough one, how many of us have actually seen Scocco play? Not may/if any I bet.
Id rather let Jozy go to Everton, but going off this seasons form and the fact theres only 3 and a half months to go for him to find form, id be tempted to take the risk.

Both of those rumours have been mentioned on here this week ........... if we're paying Fletcher he should be playing, if he's fit, until someone coughs up some money.

    keep fletch and buy Scocco
I would feel a little better if he was proven in the English game

Interesting, if the money is right for Fletcher I would not be apposed to it. Its not working for him this season, he is not getting any younger and injuries seem to be catching up with him.

We need the money to sign Borini, Ki and Alonso. If we stay up those 3 should be a priority.

Borini is an option up top on his own, then there is Scocco if he comes in.

I get the impression that Gus wants a technical forward who can play a bit (ala Suarez) rather than an old fashioned English centre forward.

IMHO Fletcher was streets ahead of Altidore today.

To be fair to Gus, the Everton thing was mentioned on here earlier this week.

It's obvious that he's for sale and we're just after the best offer.

I would ask Chelsea to sell us Ba tbh ........... he's a mercenary who is totally selfish and only wants to score goals.

Altidore is way too polite for his own good and needs to get nasty if he wants to make it here,
