How many of our players would be in a Man City team and how many would be cast aside? I like our players and I like the team. May as well support Man City if we suddenly spend ridiculous money for all the connection I'd feel.

Purely a guess, but probably not much if it did come to pass. Dalian Wanda is trying to establish a reputation in the West...wouldn't imagine that they'd do anything silly, because they seem to be looking for extensions of the brand. Might rename the stadium, maybe? Wouldn't think they'd do anything that would get the pitchforks out, because that would be counterproductive.

I wish these multi-gagillionaires would occasionally look at non-league* clubs, rather than just going for the 'finished product' of premier league club. Non-league clubs need the money more and it'll surely more satisfying building something up from almost scratch. If I were a billionaire, I'd buy Farnborough and bankroll them to the Premier League, good times they would be. That is, if we ignore the whole ridiculous situation of football finance which I would just be exacerbating, but we can ignore this since it's all hypothetical.

    * No Portsmouth jokes please, I'm being serious

I'm not on about how they buy big money players every year. I am more on about them spending a billion on their new training/ academy facilities. Plus who wouldn't want our own version of Aguero up front?

Building a fanbase from scratch is the hardest job. I don't think anybody wants that job.

I'd settle for Negredo. I'm generous like that.

It gets even better when i admit I was actually thinking of Thaksin Shinawatra.

It's not racism though. unless non-european is a race.

I count Russia and ex soviets in with this as well. Who knows when any of them will get found out or fall out of favour with their paymasters?

No, I know it wasn't meant as such, don't worry. It just wasn't perhaps worded as well as you could!

The sharing and equal distribution of wealth - you sound like a Communist!

Talking of Communists, have you seen who might be buying Saints? :p

Fanbase and facilities. Saints were an attractive prospect in League One because there was a modern stadium in place, and the club was capable of drawing fairly low crowds. You buy Farnborough and you're looking at dumping as much money into them as you would in buying a PL team, only you're looking at a minimum of 6-7 years to get them there, and no guarantee they'd ever make it.

Gold and Sullivan are two the worst possible owners you could have.

    Lazy bastards.

I guess it depends where the club is you intend to bankroll is located: North-west is probably a very bad idea. The south would be feasible, especially Kent and same with the East as there's very few league sides in both of those regions.

It's easy to criticise Man City for their ridiculous spending, but I actually think it's a wise move. Our two "big" players which we have bought are Ramirez and Osvaldo, and neither have played as well as they can. Maybe their form is linked to not having top class players around them and they may feel like they are above the club, to an extent. They would feel better if they were playing with quite a few top players to complement their ambitions as players, otherwise they're not going to end up where they wish to be.

I don't look into people's nationalities so I'll take your word on that. Their management plan seems I be **** or bust for them. ie throw tons of money out and hope it comes off...
