And as I pointed out the people who really matter, ie the people who'll use the scanner won't care. Your views on hidden agendas are totally irrelevant. They mean nothing.
I care alot about HCAFC. Incredible amounts, but it's time to take off your black and amber tinted glasses and stop letting his business methods cloud your judgement of him when it comes to donations that go someway to help treat cancer. I can't believe this is even a debate.
its obvious to him in his mind its probably a loan at 5% .. and if (god forbid I mean it ) he ever had such a condition he would refuse it due to it being a loaned piece of equipment .. wake up stuart ... things are more important than football .. a LOT more important .... wake up and smell the coffee Edit: well done on the donation .. good to see we will get facilities this area deserves
A brilliant thing to do. When you think how many of us are on here and how many of us will likely contract cancer. I hope its the front page of every paper.
Interesting. As one of the "less wordly" and "naive" on here I shall treasure your post so that I can thank you appropriately and profusely when your dire warnings are realised. Meanwhile I will add my thanks to Mr.Allam to those of the majority on this thread for his fine humanitarian gesture which will I hope save the lives of many, like CG's dad, who have and will suffer the scourge of cancer. I remember some 15 years or so ago when I began posting on the old "Tiger Chat" (is it still around?) one of the regular posters continually lamented the fact that no Hull businessman had stepped forward to provide funding to the Club in those difficult times. So I was amused to see a posting from the same individual reposted on here a month or so ago excoriating Mr.Allam for doing just that, on the grounds as Blampey keeps repeating that his motives for doing so are highly suspect and he should not be trusted. I guess you just can't win Mr.Allam. But for what its worth you have my whole hearted support!!
Plenty of drama queens on this thread. Open your eyes, ladies. He's a wily operator (so his supporters on here say).
non hull city thread ... you have talked about nothing but hull city motives ... what do you do apart from hull city related stuff ? ... really ? I hope you wake up in the morning and realise that the guy has donated more than you could ever afford towards something this area has needed for decades ... and should be commended despite the current football club arguments
May I suggest that those who wish to thank or acknowledge this kind gesture do so, that's what the threa is for. May I also suggest that no one responds to Agron and his pathetic craving for attention. Let him argue with himself.
Its Saturday night and Steweys all on his lonesome as usual. Negative attention is the only type he can get. Pity him its very sad.
Top post. I work in the health service and early detection is the key. Its not just the patient but their families that are affected. Further to this, it attracts quality researchers to our city which in turn brings more money (from larger research bodies) and better education for younger researchers working under them. AA has done a lot for this city - its a massive shame he's gone down this name change path as he should be talked about as a hero. He does a lot more than many for our city. I've worked in multiple places in the health service that has benefited from his funding for years - nothing to do with the name change. I do believe he likes people to know he's generous, but fair enough in my eyes. I haven't heard of many 'secret donors' giving massive donations to Hull's hospitals and medical research. Great gesture and anyone saying otherwise is only showing themselves in a self-centred blinkered light. If it helps save one of your family's life - you'll kiss the guys feet, I'm sure. PS I'm anti-name change and anti-'complain about the name change in every thread possible'
Waiting for a CT scan to find out if your cancer has spread is truly tortuous. Anything that can bring the waiting times down to help patients can only be a good thing. So I salute Mr Allam just as I did Tom Huddlestone for his fundraising. IMO anyone who does not do the same is petty and churlish.
So then Stuart Blampey. If you have a need for the services at castle hill hospital, or more specifically the services mr. allams funding has contributed to, will you use them? Well done Assem Allam. We can all bitch and argue about any number of thing which, when looking at the bigger picture, are entirely irrelevant and mean absolutely nothing. Life force and health are the two most important things to us all, and your generosity has gone a long way to help the thousands of people of East Yorkshire preserve and make the most of theirs. Top bloke.
I was under no illusions as to why Chazz posted this thread, Agron. He wouldn't have given the article a second glance under normal circumstances, never mind post it on this football forum. My mam died eleven years ago, by lung cancer that spread to her brain. No one saw what what was wrong with her, everyone thought it was just dementia. Then she had a stroke and died a week later. My girlfriend of 20 years had cancer, thank **** she beat it,else i'd be out of here too. To cut a long story short, i don't give a **** why Allam spunked his money. Sorry for being so blunt, but....
