Just looking at our starting lineup had me fearing the worst.
What the **** you are seeing in Larsson and Altidore that I am missing is beyond me.
A headless chicken and a striker that is more interested in wrestling the defender than take the ball. Dear God you actually saw them two causing the Saints problems up front?
Why the **** set us up to sit back to invite a very good footballing side onto us.
We played into their hands and nearly paid for it big time.
If The Saints had done their job better they could have been out of sight that abysmal first half.
Thankfully you eventually took off the waste of a shirt Larsson.
I thought we were now past the lob the ball up field and hope for the best.
Second half was better by sheer hard graft, Southampton still played the better football.
But the lads grew some balls, and we actually looked like we could take all 3 points late on.
Two good goals by AJ and Borini.
That totally unbiased Michael Owen claimed a goal keeping mistake for AJ's goal! And no I'm not joking, he actually said it. :p
Owen also said the crowd was leaving first half!! Of course they couldn't be going to the bogs or for an early pie could they you ****ing halfwit!
**** me when Brown made that tackle I froze in place, never been so pleased to not hear a whistle.
Replay clearly showed a good spot by the referee to allow play to continue Brown clearly got a touch on the ball. (Shame the oppo got hurt unlucky.)
Seconds later Gardner out muscles the defender takes the ball and the defender lashed out to kick him and came off second best. (Tough luck shouldn't have tried to kick Gardner.)

Only thing I agreed with Owen about was MOTM going to the Southampton midfielder, the lad put one hell of a shift in.

Pretty much spot on, those two are the weak links.

The 1st half was ****, the only explination i can come up with is one eye on the semi.

Larrson should be sold, catts should be punched on the nose for that sinicle challenge, altidore, well my patience has all but gone.

Hell of a point in the end, but agreed, gus got it wrong today and needed to make a very risky 3 subs to fix it

Sometimes I get worried that I am missing something that others can see in them Comm.
Even when Altidore did something right he would come to a standstill and watch what happened next!
As if to say I have done my little bit lets see what you can do with it.

Not going to defend Catts daft foul mate but he still did more good than bad, his effort was at least deterring the Saints.

Like you say hell of a point, which didn't look likely first half.

    Larsson shouldn't be sold !!!!!!!!

We should pay some ****er to take him! :p

Wish we could get folk in pretty fast. The games have been many, takes more than a week between games after that program to regain freshness. Poyet has needed to use the squad. Says it all when Gardner got on. Half the squad aren't good enough, we already knew that. But we're making up for it in spirit.

This works well for us away mate. We can break really fast and with purpose (like Johnson's 2nd goal at Fulham). It doesn't work at home so we need to change it.

A new forward must be a priority now, Fletcher looks increasingly unhappy and Altidore isn't good enough. There's only Borini who looks like scoring.

I stand by what I said mate, against good footballing sides to sit back and invite them on is suicide.
IF Southampton had took us to the cleaners that first half, being able to break out fast wouldn't have done us a lot of good.

I had my doubts about Borini as the front man, but Christ he is ten times better than Altidore and doesn't just stand about waiting and tries to make things happen.
Try Borini up top and stick Giac on the left?

He should have named the same team as the Fulham game.

Jozy gets worse the more he plays.
The lad is a brick **** house and he can't win a header.
I would rather bring back wickham and play him.

After the ****e start I'm happy with a point.

I'm glad this view is picking up pace. Gus must be thinking about it if we are surly?

Bridcutt not in Brighton match day squad. Lots of stories about this lad Scocco too.

We do need new faces as the likes of Larsson, Altidore and Gardner are no use to us. I think Borini has earned a chance at centre forward.

Will borini be here next season ?

Why not give whickham or whatmore a chance , they could prove us all wrong and be the striker we need.

i think that fletcher must be carrying some kind of injury as surely he would be first choice if fully fit

You're asking the wrong question if Wickham is the answer mate. :p

I wouldn't mind seeing Watmore getting a chance mind, from what I have seen he is a trier. <ok>

I'd give Borini a go up front, can't do much worse than Fletcher and Altidore

Larsson was awful today, credit to Gardner and Colback who helped us win the midfield battle

were people expecting this game to be bloody easy? 4 games without a loss and you expect to have it easy against southampton?

i would be happy with a point against southampton even without such a **** start. Why are 2 players been picked on? every single player on the pitch was **** in the 1st 30 mins. Even Ki couldnt get a simple pass right.

The biggest improvement in the 2nd half came when Catts and Larsson were taken off and Gardner came on. Gardner, a player who has been criticised constantly on this board. next time Poyet will start with gardner and if we dont get it easy against stoke, i bet he will be the scapegoat again.

1 loss in 10 games!!! considering the state we were in when poyet took over, that is bloody brilliant

Where are these people who were expecting this game to be easy you speak of?

Two players weren't "picked on" two players who have been consistently our worst players meant we were hindered from the first whistle.

Poyet has now admitted he got his line up and tactics wrong for this game.

But hey we are talking opinions and not claiming WE are right!
You then contradict yourself by saying the biggest improvement was when Larsson was taken off.

I don't do scapegoats pal, I give my opinion on players performances and in my opinion Larsson is a ****ing waste of a shirt and a liability.
    Hope this helps. <ok>

I said this in an earlier post mate. Him and AJ on the wings supplying Borini is potentially **** hot. Ki in the middle of them, so something like:

    --------- Borini --------

    Giacc ----- Ki ------ AJ

    --- Bridcutt - Catts/JC -

Once again after a great result we shoot ourselves in the foot.Could'nt believe the starting line up,if gus thinks Larson & Altidore should start ahead of Giacc,Fletch and Colback then were in deep s**t.Whatever happened to the ploy of never change a winning team,Gus seems to make at least two changes every game, not good for moral or confidence.<confused><confused><confused><confused>

Terrible first half. Good second half.

Catts yellow was no worse than 3 challenges the saints put in today (it was a yellow but no worse than others). Definitely not as bad as the challenges the lad that injured himself or the one after that did. And they weren't even given as fouls!

Agree we need to get Borini up top and giaccherini on the left
