With Adam El-Abd signing who out of the back 3 will fall victim to his arrival?

From the 3 I think our weakest CB is Flint but he has improved greatly and is becoming a good player. Would be so harsh to drop him as he's very good.
Williams IMO is the best CB/Defender at the club. Could go on to big things, hopefully with us
Osborne is solid and experienced at this level and rarely does anything wrong.

Players, Managers and staff have said the 3-5-2 is working for us so I cant seem them changing it. Who knows perhaps AEA won't get in the starting 11 straight away but if you had to pick tomorrows back 3 would you include him and drop one of the regulars?

Read somewhere that Cotts feels Williams needs to be managed as he is getting maybe too much football all in one go.?

Is El-Abd a CH or a player happier alongside ?
That will determine who of the current 3 are under pressure.
For me, it's Williams who is most likely to make way.
I thought he was very ordinary in his last game at AG.

I think it's great we have choice. Not so long ago it was Fontaine and Nyatanga. Good grief!
If we keep clean sheets we definitely will not lose. I promise. And we will create chances.

I think Abd will start on the bench and then maybe come on for the last 15 minutes, or maybe sooner if we had the luxury of a 2 goal cushion.

After that it might be a case of rotation. On these heavy pitches, it must take it out of the players.

Unfair to take him out based on 1 performance. Out of the 3 its Flint who has made the most mistakes/cost us most points

'its Flint who has made the most mistakes/cost us most points'

If El-Abd is a CH then Flint might get the chop.
Have a feeling it will be Williams and not Osborne who warms the bench in coming weeks.

I posted my opinion that Williams as a first year first teamed may be given a rest in the same way that both SOD and SC are doing for Bobbie Reid and Joe Bryan.

All I hope is he doesn't have a flat back four which all consists of natural Centre backs

    Logger

Flint is, what I call, our only Centre Half
Williams and Osbourne are better alongside.
    El-Abd - we'll know tomorrow.

'All I hope is he doesn't have a flat back four' - Nor me.
The players we have suit 3-5-2 much better.

Amazing really. I said months ago we should play 3-5-2 and was told we don't have the players for it..... apparently now its the formation which suits our players <doh>

Not everybody 'didn't want him' RoD. Please don't use the royal we. Many of us were happy for him to join us having seen the kind of person he was and his previous successes. I like to think we are possibly going to be proved right.

Al should be put in the team and i reckon will be our new captain.

He is head and shoulders above our current back two.

You play the best players at your disposal.

Straight in the team and lead us to bloody safety<ok>

I'm glad I wasn't the only one, when it was short odds on him I looked into it and spoke to a work colleague who supports Forest. He rated him and said he was badly treated getting them out the problems when MaClaren was removed. He also told me when we got SoD that he worries about the opposition and does not have a plan B and that turned out true.

He also said today, (this will upset Redprint) that SoD uses Gillett as his defensive midfielder but Cotts will use him further forward which in his opinion is his better position,. His words were we will see a loads better player than we had already seen.

If its a back 4 then Flint probably would be dropped but with a back 3 Flint will play in the middle of the 3 as he does win most balls in the air given his height

MK Dons don't play the long balls in the air. Tomorrow will be a game of 2 passing sides. Think Flint should be dropped. Osborne put in the middle with Williams and AEA on the sides.

He could use the 4 match fit centre backs( sorry Carey) to rotate the 3 at the back and not rely on none of them being injured/ suspended etc

Osbourne can play RB whilst AEA is more central, so why move him to RB and Osbourne inside??
