perhaps I'd better explain that statement to the thick element on here.
    He is a business man.
he has ties to this city, but like you say, he is Egyptian, he is not as uneducated or as conservative in his views as most in this country.

His main interest is to make money.. I trust him to do that, he is a business man after all.
    A very successful business man.

But when have any of the CTWD supporters spoiled match day enjoyment? How, by singing? By chanting Hull City songs? I'm not saying the contributors aren't fans with an opinion, I'm just asking how CTWD supporters have spoiled match day entertainment. I would say they have enhanced the atmosphere. Would their detractors rather be sat in a silent stadium? There has been almost no dissent within the stadium, something that surprises me, but if singing City Til I Die spoils someones day they are at the wrong place.
There are many strong opinions on both sides, mine is that the people who support this ridiculous proposal are ruining my life, but I wouldn't go on the radio and suggest that fans singing at a football match is spoiling my day.

You have just hit the nail on the head and shot your arguments in the foot in one sentance. The ONLY way to increase the clubs finances and increase our FANS is success on the pitch not some stupid name.

As I'm an educated, successful businessman, if I borrowed £100 million pounds would you trust me to run Hull City Football Club?

Like I've said again and again being a successful businessman does NOT mean that you get every decision right. I know a lot of them and they make mistakes like everyone else.

Is there any business in which in your opinion Mr Allam would not be successful? If he went into computer games or advertising or fashion retailing he'd rake it in? Learning the business inside out of making and selling generators, first as an employee and then doing well after buying the company, has made him into someone who can make money in any line without the need of any real feeling for the work involved?

business is business, making money is making money.
The basic principle, of selling your produce for more than you purchase it for, to make a profit after the government have taken their share, still applies.

I think last nights Look North program with Peter Levy interviewing John Prescott was quite good.
I think Allam has now found his PR man.

Nothing wrong with the singing and chanting, no one had any say against that. Both sides do that, even though CTWD seem to have tried to high jack some chants as a sign of support. Some complaints about the banner waving. The ones who think they'll get there faces on TV by charging down the steps in the East Stand and blocking the view of people who have paid just to watch football.
It was suggested that these people would be better served going on the Jeremy Kyle Show. :emoticon-0116-evilg

Whatever your opinion, to suggest people singing when they tried to take the banner away didn't know what they were singing for is completely ridiculous. Those people were against the name change and against the stewards trying to forcibly take away the banner.

Sorry John but that was a 5 minute episode in the Palace game, and kicked off because Mr. Allam asked for the banner to be removed. The atmosphere in the ground that day before that incident was dire. Were any of these people around during Dolan Out Fish Out? What would they say to that? Please don't tell me that you think people with a banner has spoiled the season, I think your opinion is better than that.

Yes, if you can borrow £100 million. Come back when the finances are in place.

Oh dear.I do not know if it has already been mentioned but I have been told(this could be inaccurate) that one of the people being interviewed and being quoted is actually closely related to people who were very senior on the council.I really hope this is not so as it would shine a totally different light on the validity of a statement if they were influenced by family ties imo.It would also humiliate people who may have thought it was an impartial statement and used it to underline the greatness of their crusade. Please tell me I have been mis informed

So you and Tyger think anyone with £100 million, borrowed, can run a football club? Anyone.
