Breaking News: Sunderland director of football Roberto de Fanti has been sacked by the club

Bit of a random source I admit but seems a rather strange claim to come out with

Sounds fair, if he is responsible for our signings. Seems a strange time in the middle if a window. More to this me thinks.

If it is true, I reckon it must have been because of a behind the scenes power struggle with Gus over potential signings..

No big surprise here, our Di Fanti contingent haven't added a lot to the squad, we have Celust.., Ki, Giach, Borini, Altidore and I still have hopes for Mavrias and Ba.

We bought a lot of players and the core of the squad is still with Bardsley, O'Shea, Brown, Colback, Cattermole, Johnson, Larrson, Fletcher, you should include Westwood in there too as the first choice keeper until injured <ok>

Good news imo. Gives Gus control to.bring in his players.

Dof only works if your throwing tens of millions around and picking the cream of the crop like a Bayern or Madrid

Hardly suprising. One event in isolation that is key is the Cabral saga. He was specifically mentioned by Di Fanti in his only officially released statement.

Then was proceeded to be ignored by all 3 managers

No surprises here for me. Even the timing tbh as it's a big statement of who is in control now.

I'm very relaxed about this news

To be honest mate, it's exactly the time of year things would come to a head ........ Poyet knows exactly what he wants and doesn't seem to need an extra massive wage bill on the books.

Di Canio knew the bloke was a waste of space and didn't want most of the players he brought in ......... just my opinion.
