All business decisions are a risk.It is one of the rules. Those who do not run a business usually cannot wait to say "I told you so" if it goes wrong. The person running the business must run it his way.He may listen to advisors or not but he /she has to ultimately decide.
I have made some crip decisions in my business life but enough good ones to still be in business (just)even in a recession.I make the decisions and pay the cheques for good or bad.I do not know many existing businesses that do not follow this model

I asked a question. Do you think we will be self-financing next year if we stay up? If not do you think Assem Allam can continuing putting his hand in his pocket?

I understand that up until this window we paid cash for our transfers. We are now following Bartlett and paying money down and the balance later. It would appear the problem with Long was that the initial payment was much larger then we first offered. We may well be £100 million in debt. The question that will determine the future of Hull City Tigers Limited is can he afford to keep doing it? A further question is will his family have the same attitude when he finally gives up the reins.

I've just been reading my debtors list and I've got at least fifteen customers I'd gladly shoot on sight. <laugh>

This follows the supposed "learning from the errors of the previous regime"

Granted the squad we now have shouldn't be relegated, but this is a sport afterall not pure business like marine engineering, he'd do well to consider that Mr Allam

But he seems not to listen to anyone so he remains utterly blinkered

You think all our financial problems will just wash away with a change of name.

Hull Tigers will have the same problems as HCAFC would have. In fact, it's bigger because once he realises nobody in Asia cares for us, based on a name alone and without being successful, he'll have the crowd's backs up.

Bringing these 2 players in yesterday on massive wages is a big risk. But he has to butter up the fans somehow after all the cretinous stuff he's been saying.

Surely there are ways of going about things.

It's not about his business plans being ruined. There is no plan just a wrongheaded almost racist view that Asians are a bit simple and will grab anything off the shelves with "Tigers" on it.

And it's about a cantankerous old man not getting his way and lashing out.

Man, you really don't get football do you. You've got that in common with Allam. If you think an attachment to a clubs name, it's relevance to the City and the people it represents - in this case for over a century is emotional bullshit, then you understand nothing. If you take away history, you tarnish peoples memories.
Of-course football is emotional. Does that make it bullshit? It's the thing that people share - as families, as friends, as a community - that takes them into a realm beyond all the other bullshit!
Allam clearly doesn't give a **** and apparently, nor do you.

That reminded me of X Factor. Tug heart strings, vote for me. Just needed Dermot hugging people.

I guess in the absence of an actual proper argument against it, and a realistic and workable plan to raise millions, there's not much else for the Anti's to do.

There's plenty of actual proper argument against it, there absolutely none for it, even the bloke who's driving it can't come up with anything other than 'it's my business and I'll do what I want'. Some business plan that is.

The proper argument against it is that it goes against the marketing of English and Welch football across the globe. Football in this country is worth billions in overseas revenue. If the FA think allowing the Americanisation of football club names will damage their product they will vote against it. Nothing to do with CTWD, nothing to do with Assem Allam, all to do with how the FA and the Premier League want to market football abroad.

As it was in the beginning, it will be in the end.

Just listened to Sally's call, brought a tear to my eye. Someone so passionate about Hull City AFC, and wanting to keep tradition into the future in the memory of her husband.

Moving 7 miles away from Woolwich is the reason for that. Or maybe there still is as the fans can call them what they like, as they supposedly can if Hull City become Hull Tigers? Which suggests that statement is nonsense and those who keep repeating it are wrong.

Well said, Not all supporters agree with the CTID campaign and those who disagree with their thoughts on this forum seem to get jumped on straight away. Its just a name change supporters can still call / chant what they want that can never be changed move on and lets look to the future.

I think people need to listen to the whole broadcast not just the 'edited highlights' for the CTWD campaign group.
A lot of air time was given to people declaring themselves to be long standing supporters who looked upon the CTWD group as a lot of Luddites who wish to return the club to the dark days and it was them who were spoiling the match enjoyment for the majority of supporters.

Please just listen to the whole broadcast.
