Morning Peeps, What an entertaining day yesterday. Sports writer Phil Hay made some very good points in the YEP yesterday, some which were obvious, others which made a lot of sense. I would like to touch on just a few points, and discuss them! 1) The 5/3/2 formation will only work if you have to use wing backs, i.e we had not wingers. 2) Playing with wingers will not be effective unless you have a midfield strong enough to hold their own 3) If you can't keep the ball, you're going to tire 4) Leeds have created 6 shots on target in the last three games 5) We have been adept at building pressure and sustaining it 6) Our Players confidence is brittle. Hay described one of our better players display at Hillsbrough as his 'head and judgement had deserted him'. Did we know all of this already? Is it fixable. Would we expect professional football players being paid thousands of pounds a week to be able to carry out these tasks? Should Hey be our Manager? How do we feel that GFH blocked Barnes from coming to Elland Road?
Morning ... Phil Hay gets his ideas from Not606, he is a regurgitator at best ... we have always said there is no point in paying a fee for a player in the last months of his contract, so I was amazed that Burnley paid £750k-plus for Barnes ... when a takeover is in progress transfers tend to get stuck, and I guess IF it is true GFH blocked a deal then they have every right to as they are in the process of selling ... key is can McD get more deals done before end of window Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Do you think we should invoice him, and use the money for an end of year piss up? All in favour say ayeee...
Barnes not good enough anyway,so no big loss IMO.Isn't it from someone at YEP where leeds60 get all his stories that never happen from.Phil Hay ?
I think we did know points 1-6 elland ( assuming point 5 should read 'inept' rather than 'adept'... Otherwise point 5 is a revelation to me!).
Not bothered about the Barnes non deal. If it's been blocked, the blocker would have had good reason given that we know BMD has money to spend on players he wants. Suggests that the apparent bid may not have been that enthusiastic. That said, I hope we do find another forward soon, as Ross will now have plenty on his plate and we don't want him to be soo stressed that he stops scoring.
352 works if you have wingbacks but no out and out wingers available. We now have wingers available. So hopefully with a week's worth of training, the team will make the most of them.
Morning all. Like I said yesterday, the issue is not whether Barnes is any good or not, the issue is McD wanted him but was blocked because there was a transfer fee involved. Ah what the hell, Ive a busy morning ahead and not sure if I really give a **** anymore. Maybe supporters are getting what we deserve
Leeds60 is old school and has contacts within the media, he also writes to the club regually to give them heads up on available transfers. Mr60, is a top, top man Morning all, its only bloody friday
No problem with Leeds60 nice guy but his media contacts have got it wrong pretty much every time. Was just wondering if the Phil Hay who some are taking as gospel is the same media contact.
Good luck against Leicester boys , could be a huge confidence feather in you're cap on the hunt for a playoff spot .Have a great weekend !
morning all Would love to know Leeds60's source is with in the media as he he's meant to have one in BBC Leeds. As for the Barnes deal, not really caring if he GFH blocked the Barnes deal. They had a reason for it doing it. We're getting linked with so many strikers we'll find somebody in the next few days
If the club have to rely on a fan to give them the heads up on available transfers, then we're in a worse state than I thought we were. Not disputing Leeds60 is a top bloke, but he does get things wrong sometimes
Great points on Barnes, we offered £500k and Burnley went £750k-plus ... if he really wanted to come to Leeds as YEP suggests then he would have 1) forced Brighton to take the Leeds bid or 2) sat out rest of season and signed a pre-contract deal with Leeds and joined for free in summer or 3) come on loan with a permanent move in place end of season ... my feeling is Barnes wanted away from Brighton and Leeds was just another potential choice, Burnley probably offered him better wages so that's who he chose Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
