I can't believe it. There are several Pink Un posters who are actually saying they want us to lose tomorrow so that we get rid of Hughton.

I know I've been as vociferous as anyone in wanting Hughton out, but that is crazy.

The thing is I actually want CH to succeed but it seems such a long way back now.

For me it started with the loss at home to Villa this season, then the thrashings away at Manchester and Liverpool. And then the loss at home to Fulham. It's like a perfect storm of capitulation and losing to teams that mean something to us from the past.

Then the total capitulation in the cup sealed it It think.

as superman said, it's pretty much inevitable he is going to go, regardless of what mcnally has stated.
however, this people wanting us to lose are not real fans.

It's a bit odd really, you support Norwich, it's not about who the manager is.

The posts about hoping we lose have been going on the pinkun for ages.
some see it as the only way to get rid of CH, and they may be right but I always want us to win.

In many ways as KEMP has said I want CH to succeed as this means the club is doing well.

Stupidity of the highest order. You support your club goddamit and anyone wanting their club to lose just to get the manager to exit needs their heads examined.

Club first - the Club always remains what it is, the Manager and Players always change but the Club is the reason why we are all so passionate.

this also goes back indirectly to what superman was saying, he'd spoken to some of the players and they weren't enjoying playing at home when there was moaning and groaning going on, some of which would be against the players but some must be against the manager

I can't understand why any fan would want his side to lose especially a six-pointer like the game with Hull but you can see a sort of logic.
I unlike the diminishing number of 'happy clappers' want to see the back of Hughton at the earliest but also know if we beat Hull we are saddled with him for even longer, it reminds me of the final weeks of Worthington's tenure - he always seemed to scrape a result that kept him in a job for a little longer.
I know supporters who bet on City losing so in the event they do get beaten they have something to be happy about.
So I think that if we do lose on Saturday leaving a big storm cloud over Carrow Road perhaps the silver lining could be Hughton's sacking!

Replaced by who and when? The entire backroom staff as well? What about the transfer window? After Hull we have 16 games left to get a theoretical 20 points - 6 of those games are against top 7 sides. If we can't get anything out of Hull at home we might as well fear the worst and pray that CH can perform a miracle.

Winning tomorrow is more important than anything else. I agree with McNally that the sacking line is being in the relegation zone and looking like we're going down. We aren't, and we don't at this time. Of course, McNally, like everyone else wants us to reach a mid-table finish again. A win tomorrow could put City even on points with 10th place, which is why I'm not panicking.

One thing I'll never do though is to want City to lose! OTBC!

By then and given the point of the season we are in that could be too late. I think if we lost the next six matches badly, ended up in the relegation zone and CH was given the boot it will be almost impossible for a manager to come in and turn things around in such a short period of time. Especially given the tough run of matches we have at the end of the season, this is why I'm going to be crossing all my fingers and toes Sat. Let's all hope for a turn around.

Anyone planning to do a match day thread?

If not I'll start one and whack some links to some match previews on there.

I just hope that a combination of the returning injured players and any additions can bore us over the line. We need the 3 points tomorrow but we also need a new manager. Hopefully as soon as the final whistle goes ending the season the wheels will be set in motion to find some one who can take us forward.
As GT said above at least if we were to lose the sacking of the useless git will represent something of a silverlining.
    Though worst case senario, we could lose and still be out of the bottom 3, looking at the fixtures that looks probable to me with;

    Sat 18 Jan 2014 - Premier League
    Sunderland v Southampton 12:45
    Arsenal v Fulham 15:00
    Crystal Palace v Stoke 15:00
    Man City v Cardiff 15:00
    Norwich v Hull 15:00
    West Ham v Newcastle 15:00
    Liverpool v Aston Villa 17:30
    Sun 19 Jan 2014 - Premier League
    Swansea v Tottenham 13:30
    Chelsea v Man Utd 16:00
    Mon 20 Jan 2014 - Premier League
    West Brom v Everton 20:00

Can't see Cardiff or Fulham getting anything and whilst Sunderland, Palace and Wet Sham have winnable games I can't see all 3 getting a result. Would McNasty sack him if 17th after losing at home to Hull?

    Bah!

    There's a reason I don't go on the pinkun....

I just don't understand how hoping we lose is ''supporting'' our club. I'm more hoping we'll win tomorrow and then start putting together a string of good results.

I've never wanted Hughton to be sacked, I've always hoped things would start improving, but lose tomorrow and I can't really argue if he gets sacked there and then. All I want tomorrow is 3pts and I'll be happy.

I never want to lose despite any other issues going on. I want Hughton out but also would not mind one little bit if he won every game from now on. Hell, I might even change my mind about him! <cheers>

Exactly. Dream scenario is we beat Hull playing good football, take that confidence into the Newcastle game and win playing good football, then win at Cardiff, and buoyed up by this spend the rest of the season in comfortable mid-table involved in some attractive games. Hughton keeps his job having learnt from his mistakes and developed as a manager and the future looks good. We Pant Wetters happily eat humble pie because our team is winning games again and the Happy Clappers can spend the rest of the season being smug. Everyone wins!

    And then I woke up.

If you had bet every game of 2013 to now and bet us to lose you would be in plus figures considerably .
