As I predicted Gilbride Snr is out of there, replaced by Ben McAdoo (who was the Packers QB coach) as the Giants new OC.
I think Mike Zimmer is the best hire of the lot. Long overdue getting a HC job - he's an arsehole, but a damn good coach.
Yeah i saw a few things about him when it looked likely he would be hired and he seems very highly regarded. Was surprised when the experts were saying that Vikings were the least desirable of the HC vacancies. With a capable QB (easier said than done) think we would have a pretty formidable offense with AP, Rudolph, Jennings and Patterson, and we have a lot of cap room this year to get a couple of good defensive players in in FA and a high draft pick to either get the QB or add another top defensive prospect. Plus the new stadium being built. Would only put the Lions ahead of us in terms of attractiveness to a potential HC, but then I am pretty biased
I completely agree with everything you said! Tbf, Neil Reynolds and co when they were talking about the potential coaching vacancies and so on said that the Vikings had quite a bit of potential, which they do.
I used to think they did, but if Neil Reynolds says it then I'm probably wrong and they're doomed to ****ness.
Finally the Browns have found a head coach in Mike Pettine - Bills DC last year, Jets DC for a few years before that. He's a good coordinator, I don't know enough about his character to guess if he'll be a good head coach or not - I'm just hoping Browns come out and say he was the guy they wanted all along.
Their fans must be pleased, if only that at least it's not Schiano. I sort of like the Browns, they are one of those teams, with a great past that have been through very rough times (no times at all for 3 years) in recent decades, those supporters definitely deserve some success.
I think they're the longest running team to have never been to a Super Bowl - possibly only them and the very young Texans. Respect to anyone who can be a fan for, what is it, almost 50 years never seeing a Super Bowl.
Ah yeah, them too, fair shout - but at least they've got prospects right now! Jags haven't been either, but they (like Texans) are still young.
