A few rumours on Twitter circulating about him being in Bristol for a trial with us. Former England U21, and caused quite a stir when he declared himself for Scotland, despite not actually being eligible (the rules are changed now, so he is now eligible for them). He was great at Hearts, but then moved to MLS and was Houston Dynamo's young player of the year. Now he's a free agent, but is apparently looking for Championship and League 1 teams that would take a punt on him. I've seen him play a few times, and given that he was great in America I reckon he'd do a great job in League 1. Best of all, he'd be super cheap, and probably would be low on the wage bill.

16 Jan 2014 10:58:09 Just met tommy fraser's dad and he said that news from the brighton camp is that adam el ab has left for bristol city. :- ( Getting double the wages and the captains armband apparently. Good luck adam & sad to see you go
From what I gather, he's effectively got no match fitness since in America their season ends in November. Whoever signs him will need to give him at least three weeks to get enough match fitness to get back into the swing of things. He's apparently still got a deal that will allow him to go back to America and play for his old team, but his heart seems set in England. Since Yeovil have turned him down I reckon we could be his next best option. To be honest, from what I've seen from him he sounds perfect for us.
He was a top young player whos dream move to the English leagues never happened. More of a wide midfielder than a winger from what I have seen of him but has a sweet left foot on him who can deliver a killer cross. He would be a good signing but... with the new formation that uses wing backs rather than full backs and wingers I don't see the club bringing someone like Driver in so a rumour is all it will be.
