Yes I'm sure a crack team of BBC undercover reporters trailed the saints on their away games for weeks, using stealth to find out all this marvelous secrets we've been keeping close to our chest. Or... Saints PR dept gave their favourite BBC reporter the story, much in the same way Cortese kept giving Jim White at Sky "exclusives".
You're probably right SF4L, not so much clutching at straws, but developing a rather unnatural conspiracy theory! I suspect I'm like everyone else - scouring the web for any further bits of information or insight, putting 2 and 2 together and getting ..... er .... nothing. Poch coming out and making a clear statement as to his intent has calmed things down enormously - not least making it clear that none of our players are for sale. KL has been very quiet and I'm sure there are lots of people like me would like to hear something from her.
Umm...he came back white? As long as it's a female I'm not fussed. If it's another guy I'll be needing some booze.
Crook saying he spoke to some one close to K Liebherr. They said Purslow would make a ideal selling appointment.
So long as he is appointed after this window ends, and the team is sold prior to the summer window opening, sure. Liverpool fans do not speak terribly well of his transfer dealings.
I can believe that. He did manage to sell Liverpool right out from under Hicks. And he landed them with NESV who seem to be much better. And then he stepped down. Did his job, did it well, didn't stay too long.
The Mirror say losing Cortese is like Sir Alex leaving United: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/nicola-corteses-southampton-departure-like-3028224
****ing Mirror. Still I did like this bit: "While Chelsea and West Ham are both hopeful of getting deals done, Mirror Sport can reveal that, currently, clubs and agents do not even know who to contact at Saints following Cortese's exit after a breakdown in his relationship with owner Katharina Liebherr." Lets keep it that way. Lets hope that when clubs try the old number they just have the automated "Sorry this number is not recognised" response and go and bother some other club.
Still two write ups in 24 hrs he's itching to have his say. (Had the pins untightend so my foot is in pain atm)

I've thought he was a dick ever since I was told about the journalist he tried to hound out and opposed. The bloke's a bit of an elitist snob, for all it's worth.
