Fair point. I haven't been to other teams' forums yet. Might just do that and check out the consensus.
Agreed Dutch, and I think he is proving a point and enhancing his reputation, regardless of the name change issue. Every time the club is discussed in the national media he is lauded for the great job he's doing. You could even add the suffix "... despite the name change furore"! Yes, he does have to duck at press conferences etc, but I'm just saying that this is only one aspect of his job. The most important part takes place at the training ground and on matchday, and I can't believe he's anything other than 100% focussed on the players at these times.
Again, if people do not want to contribute money to a campaign, does that mean they are not allowed to have the same opinion as the campaign does? You can't expect people to pay just because they hold the same beliefs as you.
If they do not pay does that mean the campaign is allowed to assume they do hold the same beliefs? It's amazing how many of the ****e arguments over all this go both ways at the end of the day we all support a sports club owned by a nutter - if he wants to change the name and is given permission to do so what the feck does it matter what you, I, Lambo, the fella with gnome avatar, the racist, the dick from Nottingham, the corrupt mod, ect, ect think, say or do? I'm not in favour of the change but to my recollection my opinion has not been taken in account by neither AA or CTWD.
I don't know what you people will think but I am beginning to worry. This name change thing seems to be getting to Bruce and right now he is doing a brillient job but if the protest goes on how long can he go on and who will go first, the protest, Bruce or Allam? I don't like the name "Hull Tigers" but I like the club being in the premiership.!!!!! and I like Bruce being the manager.
Blimey, that's quite a list. I think I got off lightly there! haha. If you follow the NoToHullTigers twitter account, like them on facebook and use the hashtag but don't pay I think it's pretty safe to assume that you share the same beliefs. I don't think they claim to speak on behalf of every single fan in the world that supports Hull City. Just the ones who share the same beliefs. What does it matter what we think? If it's sanctioned by the FA then it's obvious that what we think means **** all. But saying that, if no one had an opinion, message boards would be dull as ****!!
If we get relegated, does your indifference to the name Hull Tigers continue? A name change doesn't guarantee survival in the premier league. Would you be just as "not bothered" if we were Hull Tigers mid table in the Championship?
You'd think he'd tell the FA he'd leave if he didn't get his own way if it was a done deal? Interesting to see if he can afford to spend £14 million plus the agents fees plus the wages. Interesting to see what the accounts for Allamhouse and Allam Marine say when they are published.
I'd trudge around following my club (regardless of name it will still be my club) whatever division they were in. Following the Tigers isn't like being a Liverpool or Man U fan - I have a bond to Hull, a family connection, and as I get older and say farewell to more of my family my support for City (whatever's it's name) is my strongest bond to a place I'm fanatically proud of! When you've been through school life down sarf in Kent as the only Hull fan (a Hull managed by Dolan and run by Fish!!!) surrounded by all manner of plastic tits you realise it's not always the name that matters but the reasons you support that club (if any f you go to the KC or sat around in the fecking rain at the 'Arc' because the club was called Hull City AFC you're a bell-end of the highest order).
If we get relegated Hull Tigers may have a 10 point deduction to start its campaign. Last time we got relegated with debts of £30 million, next time it could be over £100 million.
What if Allam said to Bruce " You can have the 12 mill plus you've asked for, but I need you to help me with the name change issue" Just a thought !!!
I wasn't trying to bring your support in to question, apologies if it seemed so. But it seems a lot of people are willing to let the name be changed because they want to see Premier League Football. Allam himself has said that fans are not bothered with what he calls the club as long as they see good football (Premier League one could assume he means) in "their back yard". I am of course paraphrasing but I think I got the jist of it. What would they and indeed he think if we had a disastrous second half of the season and end up relegated. I can't imagine there being that much exposure of the SkyBet Championship in Asia, which is supposedly his target market with the name change.
Bruce added: “One thing we have to be is united if we are going to go forward, and if you are a Hull City fan you should be delighted with what has happened and have a respect if the owner wants to be Hull Tigers. “Underneath it all, he is a really, really good man. In his moment of glory we should all be singing his name from the rooftops because let’s be fair a lot of Hull fans would never think it would be possible we could sign Long, Jelavic, Tom Huddlestone, Allan McGregor, it goes on and on. “Just because he has done an interview to re-enhance this name thing did not deter him at all on making the club bigger and better by putting his money there again. When the two became available he could easily have said get one, but he said get the two. It has given the squad and supporters a lift, never mind everything else.”
So many times I have seen supporters walk out ten minutes before the final whistle because they are 1 - 0 down, only to then hear not one but two groundswells of cheers to find out they have walked out on a superb 2 - 1 victory. The games not over yet, but the tactics need a bit of attention.
Well Steve, if only he hadn't threatened to end our club he'd be the greatest figure in our history. As it stands, he seems to be want to be the Man Who Killed The Tigers and replaced them with Hull Tampax.
The fact that you seem to be suggesting we shouldn't debate the matter. Makes you look a bit daft really, seeing as you're suggesting it on a message board.
Good job he just signed two top quality strikers then to try to ensure our survival. Three cheers, Mr Allam.
