http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/16/ca-katharina-liebherrs-ascent-to-the-southampton-helm/ So, late last night I was asked by my editor to come up with an all-encompassing feature covering Southampton's turbulent 48 hours, and provide an overview of life during the Liebherr Era, as well as Cortese's legacy at Southampton, Katharina's arrival and background and what the future may hold for club. I've tried to remain totally objective and provide a fair overview, so I hope that comes across. I'm personally really happy with it, so would appreciate you all taking the time out to have a read. It's a big article, but something I've been working on all day so feedback would be appreciated. As ever guys and girls, thanks. DTLW
Good piece DTLW. There are a few typos, and a few repetitions in the same sentences, but the content is good and I can see you went to a lot of effort on it. One thing I will say is that I have never feared going to St Mary's, even when we were at the bottom of the Championship in the 2008/09 season. I always have pride in my club, regardless of whether we are successful on the pitch or not Good work though.
Yeah, you want to get them to publish the correct edition. The theme is fine, but there are quite a few grammatical and contextual errors, no doubt due to you choosing better ways to express a point. Oh, and Poch wasn't sacked. It was a mutual parting. On that point, if I were to guess, I'd say that Cortese had a close word with Poch and his boss at Espanyol and got them to part company. Of course, we'll never know the reason and I have no evidence at all.
He has now updated it. Couple of basic errors ironed out and two new paragraphs. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/16/ca-katharina-liebherrs-ascent-to-the-southampton-helm/
Very good read, just shows how far we have come in four and a half years. Let's keep moving forward! COYR
Great piece DTLW. We all have our own opinions on things that have happened in our club since Marcus saved us and they will remain that way unless a published form of clarity ever arrives. So being a Southampton fan to the very deepest core, I personally only like to read positive things and you have managed to make me feel quite positive on what's around the the corner.
Not sure about the title Katharina is an only child born to a billionaire in a family of billionaires and yet, strangely, becoming the CEO of a football club is regarded as progress.
No, no, no. She's not the CEO of a football club. She's a CEO of THE football club. Southampton Football Club. She has reached the pinnacle of life.
Thought she'd temporarily taken over as CEO until a replacement is found. If Nicola was working his notice, I presume one will be appointed quickly. I suppose the fact that he worked notice (if true) suggests that trust had not been lost....if there was any doubt an outgoing CEO would get the bum's rush.
Really? I was pretty convinced we were top two all season. I thought they went top and we went 2nd. Lets pretend it never happened if so...
Yeah sounds good to me, I can't be bothered to look it up. Good article though, I quite like the thought of a less autocratic Cortese taking over as CEO.
As she is probably now the sole director of the holding company you could argue she is chief executive of that by default, but Les Reed, Mr Brendan Mcglinchey, and Gareth Rogers are the remaining executives of the football club, where she has been announced non-executive chairman. hang on...
