Funny how we have one thread started by a Sunderland WUM attacking Bruce with our supporters defending him to the hilt, and then another thread ignoring his plea because he's saying something they don't like. If Bruce didn't agree with Allam, he would keep quiet or walk. He doesn't though. He chooses to defend the record of the Chairman and has asked the fans to get behind the name change.
I've never hidden my lack of concern re the name change, but doesn't CTWD only have 1500 members? I just imagined that there was a lot more like 5k+

I celebrate the team and the impact of our current relative success all the time. I also make my point around the name-change issue. It's possible to do both.

1.5k paid members. Many people don't have the luxury to spend money on such things. That doesn't mean they don't support the work CTWD are doing.

Look at what other managers are putting up with... chairmen that come into the dressing room before games, trying to tell managers which players to pick, getting football directors in, being Tan and having their friendly boss putting in their resignation. Why would Bruce leave at the moment, he's quickly becoming a media darling for his breath-of-fresh-air honesty and humbleness. He looks like an absolute miracle worker (fairly). Chooses his own players. The chairman is willing to back him (?overspend to back him). His name gets chanted a few times every match, even when we're losing. He's tasted the other side (Sunderland) and I think he'd only go to a big club at the moment.

It is. You're right. You really believe everyone has disposable income they can throw in to something? People are living payday to payday, choosing whether to heat the house or feed themselves. Regardless of how cheap it may seem, some people just cannot justify an expenditure like that. I am a paying member though. Have also bought the scarf. Just because you can afford it, doesn't mean others can.
Im quite sure he gives as much of a **** about the name change as the majority of the fans. For the hard of thinking, I mean it's a passing trivial distraction that doesn't affect him one little bit. I know its the most important thing EVER to some of you, but not for the majority, nor for the manager nor the team.

Who the f**k cares about what you think. This isn't about you...What SB thinks is what matters here. IF it affects him and IF it is a distraction then that's just how it is, he doesn't have to justify **** to you. Just because from your biased position you assume and believe it shouldn't affect him doesn't mean it doesn't. Frankly, keeping SB as our manager is far more important than gaining moral high ground.

Not really. My company could change its name to "The Sweaty Bollocks Inc.", I'd hate it but I wouldn't walk away because I quite enjoy getting paid at the end of the month.
