He needs to slot in his first couple of games with you. If he doesn't the confidence issue may continue in the black and amber.
Far from it mate, I'm merely a realist I hope he does a great job for you, I've just seen enough on him to know that it's far from certain
I totally agree, if he gets a couple early on, he'll go from strength to strength. Like any striker really.
He hasn't exactly got much to be an improvement has he. We'll probably think he's a world beater if he scores 4 this year and becomes our top scorer
I've got to say £7.5 mill is a bit of a gamble, considering he's badly out of form. I hope it works out for us. Although, Everton have done well there.
We've been done off on the price, £3m if have been happy with it but £7.5m is ****ing ridiculous. I'd rather have taken Grant Holt on loan instead of pay that much. 5/10 years down the line I can see Jelavic's portrait in the filing cabinet next to Jimmy Bullards.
Well i would rather have him any day of the week than Grant Holt. As for actually signing him, we wouldn't have had a cat in hell's chance if he had been in form as Everton wouldn't be selling.
It's January. We needed a striker. Its the worst window to get anyone in, let alone a striker. We got as good a one as we could. It's always a gamble. We could sign Rooney and he could end up injured for the rest of the season. Just be pleased ffs.
we've been molested for the price because everybody and their gran knows we're in desperate need for a striker, so every one up front becomes a little more costly because we need to buy a lot more than everton need to sell
Lets just see how he goes when he gets on the pitch. Who would of thought that we would of got the quality of Jelavic this time last season. Christ we struggled last time in the PL to get quality players to come here. Without a doubt the quality of players we are getting are down to one thing. Steve Bruce. Long may he remain our manager.

The Croatian international striker, who completed a £7.5m switch to Hull City yesterday, expressed his thanks to the Goodison faithful for standing by him through the ups and downs of his time on Merseyside. Jelavic, 28, agreed a three-and-a-half year contract at the KC Stadium, and although he is excited at the opportunity of more regular first-team football, he admitted he was sad to bring his Blues career to an end. After a prolific start to his spell with the Toffees the goals dried up for the former Rangers forward, but he insisted that his first five-and-a-half months when he plundered 11 goals in just 16 appearances was the true reflection of his ability. He said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Everton fans from the bottom of my heart for their support. “They gave me their backing from day one and never stopped believing in me, which is something I will always remember. “To score on my full debut in that memorable game against Tottenham was very special, and the feeling of Goodison that night will remain with me. I believe the scoring run which I went on during those first six months is the real Nikica Jelavic and I’m pleased the Evertonians were able to see and appreciate what I’m really about. “Everton supporters have a special way of making you feel like one of them, and even when I was not in the team in more recent times I always felt they were behind me.”
